I can't find decent hairspray for the life of me - I used to have a favorite brand that changed their mixture ingredients about 5 years ago (putting Acetone as one of the main ingredients -that's finger polish remover and it smells like it - what were they thinking???) and ever since them I've been in Hairspray Hell...

I've tried and not liked:
Tresemme
Aquanet
VitalCare
Got2Be
Aussie
Sebastian Shaper and Freeze
Redken Shaper and Lock (kind of ok- best yet so far)
and others...

I need something that really holds! Do you have any ideas?

I used to use Big Sexy Hair. I don't know if you can get it here in Oakhurst, but it held really good and smelled good too http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

I use the Aussie aerasol(sp?) light hold and I love it! It smells good and my hair has good movement while still holding the shape that I want.

Found out Rite Aid will let you return if you don't like so bought a few to try...

Catwalk!!! YA - nice helmet head, hold your hair all-day where you want it - that's what I was looking for - finally!

I always drive with the windows down, so I don't use any hair spray. If I did spray my hair, and then let the wind have its way, I would prolly look like one of those kewpie dolls, with hair straight up. (or maybe a troll)

I am thinking I am a hair spray snob or freak ( no comments from my friendly peanut gallery!!http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/lol.gif)

I went and double checked I have 4 different types going right now. It all depends on what I want my hair to do! Hard super mega hold -Rave 4. Curly hold -Pantene. Straight and smooth --Bio Silk

Texas Style Big hair and for getting ink out of my work shirts -- Aqua Net

I am sure you have heard the old saying "Fine as frog hair" Hairspray seems kind of pointless http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/rolleyes2.gif

KK, if I may brag a minute, I'm friends with Louis Vargas of Louis Vargas salon in Fresno. (They do hair for the newscasters and biggies in that booming metropolis http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif. Can I get you some stuff from there to try? It's what I get when I'm there. My hair really has to stay out of my way when I'm at work, and what I get does the job.
I also love Pantene Blond Highlights hair spray.

Hair Spray??? I have never used it. My hair is so short and curly I wouldn't know what to do with it. I do hear it is great for killing spiders though.

I've discovered a good cut and a good shampoo are key for me. (Of course I've scared the UPS Man on occasion.)

The hard water up here is tough on hair, especially if you are using something natural, or at least not carcinogenic.

What does everybody use?

I've found that "AquaNet" and anything with the word "freeze" in it is pure murder on your hair! I am starting to have "follicle fallout" and of course well water is so abrasive - has so many minerals in it - so am trying desperately to find some hair friendly hairspray. The best I've come upon is "Osis" elastic by Schwarakopf. Get it from my hairdresser's at Rumors. $15 a can - but ya gotta do what ya gotta do! (That's my 2cents, er $15 worth)!
