Here's a picture of Del and Taylor's latest catch in manzanillo a few weeks back. THey cooked up the mahi mahi 3 different ways at our restauraunt. It was the best fish I ever had. Del caught 2 sailfish that day... lucky dog!

omgosh! you were there? really? I absolutely loved it there. Not very touristy at all (except where we stayed)....THe best place to catch sailfish obviously...next time we would plan on staying near barra navidad ...hardly anyone on the beaches there ..very cultural..it's an awesome place
and yes the boys were in high heaven when they got back ...for Del to catch 2 sailfish was indcredible. THe crew took the sailfish home to thier families. I'm so glad my son caught the dorado..He said It fought like crazy..what a great experience..

messy..the Best place to stay in puerto vallarta is the Marriott casa magna.

http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/PVRMX

THey always have the best deals on expedia.IT's absolutley a beautiful hotel with the largest pool in P.V. ( swim-up bar also yeah)you can walk to the marina for dinners and breakfast. We found an awesome place - hole in the wall called "tacos beer" killer fish tacos and a huge plate of quacomole for $2.00..It cost 50 cents to take a bus to downtown. there they have the malecon boardwalk with many artisans and ofcourse they have senior frogs and The hard rock cafe. Theres a great beach to go to in town. We also go to town early, have breakfast at the el dorado ( gay hotel) right on the beach they give us a palapa and we spend the day there people watching and playing in the ocean.. It so fun. its definetley a gay beach..which makes it much more interesting..Make sure you take the day trip via water taxi to the beach
" yelapa" ..
http://www.yelapa.com/
thats a must...If you want more culture there is also a super neat motel to stay at called "molina de agua"

http://www.molinodeagua.com/

right on the beach too and has more of a rustic feel. no windows, blinds no tv..and a occasional Gecko but very tropical and gives you a taste of the real pv..they have lots of birds and a monkey there. Keith also stayed there one time and he loved it..It's right in town..I'll give you any other info via e mail..

Pata been checking out places in Puerta Vallerta. We're going to be staying 9 days. Found 2 hotels that provide meals and activites. The NH Krystal 1769. and Royal Decaneron 1805.
Then went to Cabo. cant touch anything for less then 3000. So I went to Cozumel. Found the Melia 2422. All meals, drinks. beverage bar stocked daily in your room and activities. Now this is a 10,000. trip with expedia giving 8000. in credit. Now didnt a hurricane go threw there and cancun. So I need to call a travel agent to see if the hotel is still there intact or partially intact.
Its an 8hr flight vs 3hr to PV.
I will be checking with the Bigman.

cozumel is beautiful! the ocean and sand are heaven!..if you decide to go to pv..the krystal is awesome plus they have the absolute most indcredible disco..it's unbelievable....
Pv = tropical..cancun = hotel zone tourist trap..cozumel gorgeous but keep in mind that June is scortching HOT! In mexico...you may want to check when the best time to go is...

I've been to Playa blanca in June/July and yes its hot. but we dont have a choice. It's june or Oct. and we would like a vacation by ourselves. And we need to leave the country this year or the Bigman will only be able to spend 1 week here in Oct.

The Krystal is beautiful took a virtual tour price is 1672. for 9 days.

Also checked out La Paz about the same prices as PV but you have to leave out of LAX.

Cozumel is where we honeymooned 17 years ago! Wow its been that long! Great Snorkeling and diving. Not much for beaches though - pretty rocky unless the resorts have brought in sand.

Don't go in hurricane season - I know September'ish - October-ish... It is cheap, but it could spoil your plans!
