Does anyone know of someone who can fix a toshiba laptop? My grandaughter has a"blue Screen" and she needs it for school.
I know sierratel does but they charge 60 an hour, anything cheaper? I am sure it needs a hard drive
Please!! I need to help her.
Thanks

Is there some kind of an error on the blue screen? Also, what is the Toshiba model?

I dont think Sierratel repairs computers anymore. Oakhurst Online does. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif I would need to run some diagnostics tests to know what was wrong.

Its a toshiba satellite pro 4300 series. When it did work, it was great.
She had a friend look at it but all he did was reinstalll windows, so I am thinking the hard drive is corrupt??
Thanks

Jan </div></BLOCKQUOTE>ok, this morning I went through it & this is what happens: the toshiba screen comes up,
it goes to windows
enter password
loading personal settings
goes to a desktop background & stays there
It has a faint ticking sound, sort of like a clock.
If you press enter, the task manager box pops up
Another window pops up & says Windows has encountered a problem & will close
After that it will do nothing, not even shut off.
Any ideas?
Also, do you know of someone thats cheap who might beable to fix it?
Thanks so much
Jan

Sounds like either a nasty virus or a hard drive issue. I know Sandman repairs computers. I personally have used Hammertech in the past, I think they charge around $60 per hour though. Computer techs are not cheap. I am sorry I could not be more helpful.

I own a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It's the second one I have owned. I can help you, but I would need to run some software that I have to diagnose the problem. This software will detect and hardware problems. Repair starts at $60, but something like this will probably take a few hours, so you will be looking at least $120 or so to fix it, not counting any costs for new hardware. Give me a call if you would like to make an appointment to have me look at it.
