I hate to say I told you so, But look what happened in Coarsegold Memorial day week end. The KKK is alive and well in Madera Co. Just like I said!!!! It was on all the news stations on Fri. 5/26 (Bet it won't be in the Sierra Star!!!!)
Look at the racial slurs that our D.A., Ernie Licalsi, is using to get us to vote for him and not for Franz Criego. He tries to make it look like Criego is a crook when we all know that Licalsi was charge and convicted of extortion. Do we need this type of person as our District Attorney? What is wrong with this picture? We want a crooked DA in a position to judge and procecute ?

http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/confused.gif No need to say I told you so, we've been talking about it for several days now. Take a look at the Aryan Unity fest thread.

This is ridiculous. The KKK has been in Madera for a heck of a lot longer than Ernie Licalsi! Are you saying he's a member? If so, you better be able to prove it. Such nonsense. If you don't like the man, don't vote for him, but don't tag him as related to the KKK unless you can prove it.

I was thinking about this topic last night. Then, on another board, I read something that I found quite interesting. A person posting there made the statement, referring to the KKK rally in Coarsegold, that many local residents as well as judges, and their superiors are racist as also, then went on to imply that maybe "they" (the local residents, judges and their superiors) might be possibly found under the hoods to. Are these statements made because the poster has PERSONAL knowledge of who is a KKK member, or are they just labeling people as KKK and racist simply because those people don't agree with their rants that try to tie a local election in with the KKK and racist issues? It's interesting that they cry for justice, then dish out such trash, and trash it is. Myself, I would prefer to know when the KKK is active, know that information is being gathered by local law enforcement as to who attends those meetings, etc. I don't subscribe or agree with their (KKK) philosophies, beliefs, what have you, never have. And far more people up here disagree with them than agree with them. It's better to let them have their meetings in the open, without the cross burnings and/or violence, than to have them skulking around in the hills and wondering what they are up to, isn't it? At least after this weekend, people know who they are. For someone to say that many local residents are racist just because they didn't go get on their white steeds and charge to crush the KKK is ludicrous. As one person said in the other thread, regardless, this is still a country where people can express their beliefs, and we still have the freedom not to believe/or agree with those beliefs. Unfortunately I believe there will always be racism/discrimination of some sort, there will always be those who believe in a "pure" race, and every race practices that to some extent. Think of the parents who cut kids off because they "dare" to marry someone of another race.
The constant rants in this election grow tiresome. Either vote or don't vote for the incumbent, make your choice based on his character/performance, not on insinuations that he may lean towards the KKK. If people believe that the elected officials truly are racist or belong to such groups, then vote them out, prove that they are with solid information, not speculation. It's real easy to label someone a racist, just because they don't agree with your point of view. Doing so doesn't mean it's so, and could result in lawsuits for slander or some such thing. LOL, guess this is my rant for the day. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

If we are not part of the solution then we are part of the problem

It would be interesting to know who the "local" KKK, white supremacist folks are...who would go to this Unity Fest? The funny thing is that for a common belief these people share and celebrate...it's done in secret. Something tells me they aren't so proud of their "white pride"...or they fear they'll get hell for it, because after all, the general masses do agree with The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Human Race. White supremacists think any other race is "subhuman"...yes, I read this on another forum...designed by and for White Supremacists. Oh and there was a whole thread on there about this Unity Fest...people coming from all over (largely CA and even a few from England).
There's no peaceful solution for these people...it's all black and white (pardon the expression). It's either you're white and straight and Christian...or you don't deserve to exist here...
I'm feelin' like these people are not much different than Muslim Extremists or Osama Bin Laden's men who live in cells around the world. Yeah, these guys (and gals) can go on having their little get-togethers and share their comraderie. It's all legal for them to talk smack...the question is what is their agenda? What sort of actions result from their beliefs? Strength in numbers?
I find the whole thing frightening, myself. And I'm "white"...I can't imagine how I'd feel if I was black, or Jewish or gay knowing there were people here who were so prejudiced they actually belonged to a freakin' club for it.
I hope law enforcement keeps track of these people...like they would any other gangmembers.

Law enforcement does keep track of them, believe me, they do. At one time, Madera County had the Grand Dragon, or Grand Wizard, whoever he was, living here. He still lives here and still belongs to the KKK, but I don't think he holds the title anymore. My issue with this thread (ignored by the original poster, but what else is new) is the insinuation that Judges, many locals, etc. belong to this organization. I don't, you don't, a lot of other people I know up here don't either. That kind of garbage being slung around happens when the person who posts it can't think of any better comeback, and they don't have the facts to back up their so-called claims. It's an issue not related to the current election race, and the pathetic attempt to tie it in to that are stupid, without hard, solid facts to back up the claims. All that type of claim is is an attempt to fan a dying flame. Based on the information out there, people have made up their minds who they're going to vote for, tossing in lies and innuendos only serves to muddy the waters, and may in fact backfire on the pot-stirrers, causing people to vote for the incumbent because they are less than impressed by the integrity of "supporters" of the challenger.
