I have been recieving, for some time now, http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/annoyed.gif"SPAM" http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/bonk.gif that I can't UNSUBSCRIBE to.

I recieve dozens a day http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/freak.gif!!! With no company name, no phone number and no other tracking information http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/confused.gif.

I have recieved personal E-Mails from other forum members whos' names are posted along with mine on some of these SPAM e-mails http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/shout.gif.

Some of these are XXX rated and I don't like recieving these on my home computer http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gif.

One , thats finally been tracked down is " get smart " at lendingtree.com, as the responsible party http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/comp26.gif.
They've been contacted, so hopefully this will end, soon http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sick.gif.
The following tracking numbers were given;
#1. 27737182
#2. 72210868

I have saved some of these emails and forum members messages for future discovery. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/idea3.gif

Wish I had more time to post on the forums , but I spend to much time destroying unwanted e-mails.

Anybody else want to chime in on this one? I know I'm not alone, just the first to post publicly.

I have just recently (1 week) been receiving the same. What I don't understand is receiving every forum comment on my email! How did that happen? Also tons of spam. It's aggravating.

You can manage the notifications you get in your Profile settings. I deleted your notifications for you Summer.

As far as the spam, it's not coming from Oakhurst Forums. Spammers can put any return address they want to and make it look like it comes from Oakhurst Forums.

Thanks so much Sandman for fixing my notifications. It was an easy fix but I didn't know how to to it - like just hit "Off". http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/bonk.gif Yeah, the spammers are real sneaky. They actually pick up the same or similar names of people here on the Forums.

Maybe try running AdAware or Spy Blaster programs, which are free downloads. Real stubborn cases might require dumping the hard drive (pain in the rear) and/or doing a system restore.

Thanks
But I did download adware, scanned it, then it did a system shutdown??
This is driving me nuts.
Someone told me it could be like an advertizement, but I cant get it off my desktop!!
Any ideas?

If you can't figure it out and would like to hire someone to fix it for you, I may be available. Just call me at 559-760-4077.

My hourly rate is $60 and most repairs like this can be fixed in about an hour or two. After I do some maintenance, your computer will run a lot quicker and I can show you how to prevent this from happening in the future.

Best of luck.
