Ive just finished my move to YLP and I havent yet been to Blackhawk lake but have heard the fishing is good from a few. Does anyone fish this lake? Whats the story? Is it planted? Species?

i dunno.... Coarsegold Creek runs into Blackhawk lake.. so i would be careful after the idiot who dumped septic waste into the creek. Blackhawk is great, water isnt very clear, also to get in you have to get the key from the golf coarse... and if the landowners who live around the lake want to use the lake for their own use.. they will "close" the lake at will. BUT it is a gorgeous lake.

I dont see how its possible for someone to dump septic waste into a lake like that? Its even more disturbing it seems to be public knowledge on the forum. Whats the story there?

The thread is on here somewhere. It's from the septic guy who was draining his crap on to his property which ran into the creek which runs into Blackhawk Lake. He was finally busted by the county.

I wonder how much sewage was "dumped" on that property. Per the video stream it states "several discharges" of "septage" were found on his property above Coarsegold Creek on a "secluded cul-de-sac". Where did he live? Was he in YLP?

How long before it will naturally degrade from microbes and being broken apart and carried downstream by the abundant rainfall we get here.

Or is there quite a bit there, that it will continue to leach for years via rainfall moving it into Coarsegold Creek.

Or... is there a life span on human waste that it will no longer be a threat?

Of course, we aren't given this information. How does one find out?

Any biologists out here on the board who can help answer that question?

What about County Health Dept? Could they tell us - supposedly they'd received multiple complaints from his neighbors and that's why they finally went to his property with a search warrant.
