I just saw on the news that a Mariposa man is missing. They found his truck, but not him. I guess he is a good man who volunteers at the middle school in Mariposa.

Anyone heard about this?

Missing since Thursday, I think. Mariposa, Madera, Tulare, and I think 1 other county all had deputies looking for him on Sunday. We got the missing poster up on Saturday.

We drove out to the Ponderosa Basin yesterday for business. They have search posts set up out there looking for this poor old man. The woman that we went to see said he went to her church and he was a really nice person. I hope they find him soon.

I just heard on KISS Country , they had a psychic on and someone called in about this man, she said that he was gone and that there were 3 men involved. She described them and everything.

A Coarsegold man missing since Saturday afternoon from his Buck Run Lane home was found Sunday at approximately 1 p.m. at a friend’s house in Oakhurst.

According to reports from the Madera County Sheriff’s Department, William Eugene Malcolm, 66, left his home Saturday afternoon to make a phone call at the Texaco gas station, located at Road 417 and Highway 41. He then went back to his home, just southeast of the Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino, packed a duffle bag and a suitcase then left without a trace at roughly 3 p.m. until he was found nearly 24 hours later.

The sheriff’s department wasn’t notified of Malcolm’s disappearance until five hours after he vanished, according to a statement released by Erica Stuart, public information officer for the Madera County Sheriff’s Department.

Search and rescue crews combed areas of Coarsegold, Bass Lake and Oakhurst looking for Malcolm, who is reportedly both vision and hearing impaired. Law enforcement officials also looked into the possibility that Malcolm may have tried to either get to Fresno or Madera.

In an unrelated case, the search and rescue effort for Douglas Pearse, the 86-year-old Mariposa man missing since April 21, has been scaled back, Capt. Doug Binnewies of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office said.

The original effort included involvement from Fresno, Madera and Merced counties along with more than 20 other agencies and organizations.

Still no news on "Grandpa Doug" His grandaughter is a friend and unfortunately, nothing at all has been found. It's a very sad situation.

What EXACTLY are the facts in his disappearance? I know it happens more often than you would think, however, I always wonder...how does this happen without an outside force? Extensive searching by people who know the area has turned up nothing? I don't understand....
