Technical Support Representative
Well-established software company is seeking a full-time or part-time Technical Support Representative for its corporate headquarters in Mariposa, CA.
Job description
Provide technical support to software end users by telephone, e-mail and fax. This position is responsible for troubleshooting and/or resolving hardware, software and minor networking issues for end users. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, outstanding written communication skills, and a solid technical background.
Essential functions
• Respond to support requests from users to provide timely and complete resolution
• Provide technical support for company software and productivity applications
• Document end user support requests
• Track unresolved end user support requests
• Maintain and develop end user and internal software/process documentation
• Perform off-site or telephone training of end users as assigned
• Perform on-call support after business hours as assigned
• Setup new user accounts
• Complete special tasks and projects
Required experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS (2000/XP)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Access)
• 4 year college degree (suitable work experience accepted in lieu of degree)
Desirable experience
• Knowledge of Linux OS or other Unix-like operating systems
• Customer or user support in a professional office
Additional requirements
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Possess analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize workload
• Attention to detail and follow-through are imperative
• Ability to interact with end users’ highly varied personalities, abilities and backgrounds
