just got the phone call from the principal. 2 hour delay for schools ( 10/15) due to icy road conditions..

so Wasuma has a two hour delay? The roads have been icy before... before the snow came and went. How come they are postponing school a couple hours now?

Coarsegold School is on a 1 hour delay this morning... they called last night...

hubby had to go into coarsegold to get gas and called me on his way out and said the roads are really bad.. so whoever has to drive be real careful......

Don't know if you got official word Yosemite Joy...but there is a 2-hr delay for Wasuma. School starts at 10:10, buses will be picking up 2 hrs later than usual. I got word last night, but wasn't on-line to post. This is for today, Wednesday the 15th.

What is the point of having a phone number if they can't figure out how to make it work? There is also a message line for Wasuma, but it hasn't worked as long as I have called it (the last couple times I wanted to find out about school delays)...

Guess I will have to wake up and look at the forum in the morning to see... I will take the laptop to bed with me so in case there is a delay/cancel I can just close my eyes and pass back out.

okay I just got a phone call this morning at 6:37am and coarsegold school is now on a 2 hour delay just for coarsegold school so i wonder what the delay is for oakhurst and other schools.

Just received a call that North Fork School (Chawanakee District) has been canceled for the day due to "Snow and No Power". My lights keep flickering, so I hope I can keep power. My cooking is propane dependent and my heating is a woodstove, so even without power we'll be fine... Jai and I will just play scrabble or something if we go offline.., then dig our way over to Sandmans to be sure he is OK...

The little truck plow just went by on 426 too.

I think all the schools should have closed due to the weather forcast. Sounds like all they're going to do is end up sending them home which means those busses and people who have to pick up the kids will be on the roads when they shouldn't be driving unless they absolutely have to.

yeah i know he will be fine he just always says mom pray something bad doesnt happend. and with what happend with my brother jared it makes me wwant to lock my kids in the house sometimes and not let them go out. exspecially in this weather.

The bus drivers take great pride in doing a good job hauling the kids. The paperwork they'd have to fill out for the district is huge - THEN there is the paperwork for the CHP!!!

I understand the schools need for money but I'd rather have the kids safe and make up a day then to risk injury or or worse yet their death. Frustrates me that it seems to be more about the money than about the kids safety...just my opinion.

I know...everytime I drive by those kids standing out in the cold waiting for the bus I think someone should build them a little bus stop shelter but I'm sure someone would come along and just destroy it!

no delays for Coarsegold School and Yosemite this morning.. the phone started ringing at 5:30am this morning.... but heard now it is pounding in Oakhurst, wonder if they will make it a early day?

You may have found out by now that there is school. You should get the wide area phone call if there are any delays or no school.

yeah i found out there is school but there was a bus delay for bus 9 up rd 426 as bus 9 kinda got stuck so ran about 25 minutes late. but i never recieved any kind of call

Walking my dog I pass the bus barn on Rd 428 regularly.

Some buses were leaving the yard around 9 am this morning.
