On my way home Sunday, and missing the pizza party I was in the mood for pizza, so we stopped in Los Banos at Me & Eds, and the pizza was terrible, we tried 2 types of pizza's ate a few pieces and trew the rest out...yuk!! and it was very noisey, and full of un-supervised kids, what a dump!!! I'll never go there again, but I will try out the one in Oakhurst, hopefully it better pizza than the one in Los Banos.

Mibrew, the only down side that I saw was that most everyone was complaining of the warm temperatures. I'm cold blooded by nature, & it was even warm to me! LOL Maybe some ceiling fans would help out...or maybe they just haven't had a chance to get the temperatures regulated yet.
But the pizza tasted ok, & it's clean. The employees were very nice too....didn't see too many unsupervised kids running around either. Ya might wanna give it a shot!

Of course I will, but never again in Los Banos.

Crust was good, toppings were good, but needed more sauce. Good salad bar. Excellent employee service. Yep...ceilings fans would be a plus.

I liked Me & Ed's Pizza. THe place was Large & clean and I like a clean bathroom and they had em there. Of course they are new so lets just hope it stays that way. Also I like that they positioned the video game room away from the table area to keep the noise down. The only additions I could think of would be the ceiling fans as previously mentioned it got a bit warm in there and maybe a large Scrren TV or multiple smaller TV's for around the place. The food was pretty good and I had no complaints there.

I like the pizza there, the noise was a bit much, but that's just me. No problems with kids I saw and thank goodness it was more than just me that was too warm, I thought I was imagining it!

I just don't care for Round Table's sauce. But then I don't like a lot of sauce on my pizza, I love the CHEESE!!!!!!! Guess that's why I like Me N Ed's, they don't put a lot of sauce on theirs.

I deliver Pizza for Pizza Factory. I would like to add that everyone cannot like one place 100%, so there are always pros and cons to eating anywhere.
However, Pizza Factory has not stayed in business for 25 years for any other reason than the food is generally good and the employees generally friendly. There are always exceptions, but they do strive to make a really good pizza. I'm not saying this because I work there....I have supported "Danny's" Pizza for many years. Each of the pizza places makes a pizza unique to their place of business.
Pizza Factory almost overdoes it on the sauce and toppings but you can ask them for light sauce, no sauce or white sauce. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/pleased.gif
I found the Me'n Eds Pizza to be different. I personally didn't like it as well as Pizza Factory but it wasn't bad. I also thought it was better than Round Table. Just my opinion.
I think the comment above about Danny from Daisygirl was uncalled for also.

Don't worry about the comment MtnBreeze, most of us are taking those kind of negative comments, without backups facts, with a grain of salt. Pizza Factory was okay, just a little over the top with sauce and toppings. I didn't know till I talked with you at the party that you could ask for less of everything. I guess I just prefer Me N Eds because that's what I grew up with. I remember going there in Fresno with my brother and parents when I was in Jr. High. (Hmmmm, maybe it's a nostalgia thing of happier times???) I also like the Madera DiCicco's pizza, but I know the owner, Marco, and he always made it just the way I wanted. It's all just a matter of what you're used to. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink2.gif

I like Me & Ed's, and the fact that it's family is a bonus, BUT when we moved here & it was snowing, we had no heat, or for that matter, food, Pizza Factory was the place that stayed open a bit later to make us pizza, soup, etc. I guess moving in on a Sunday night (our final trip from So. Ca) and getting to town after 9 pm wasn't a bright idea. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/idea3.gif
Hondos turned us away a few minutes before 9 o'clock, as did most of the other restaurants in town.
I've had nothing to say but good things for pizza factory since I came here. I even go to the one in North Fork when I come up the back way.
I didn't know about asking for less, that would help. They put too much cheese on for my liking, it's almost like bubble gum.
As for the people, I've noticed that (like just about everywhere else) if theres only a teenage staff on, things aren't always on. Most businesses thrive when they have a lead staff that can lead.
Anyway, yeah, I'll still eat at Pizza Factory, they're good, but most likely more often at Me & Eds. (discounts are good....especially with my boys)
As for our party last week, I told a few of you, but the owner's wife had given birth that morning & he was down in Fresno with her. The young staff did O.K., but they still need direction.
I've told the owner (Art) about the request for ceiling fans, and on request of my husband, an outside table for smokers. We'll see if these requests are taken into consideration or not.

Hailey, I meant "downfall" in a good way. I have always loved Me N Ed's Pizza. It is a downfall to any attempts to diet!!!! I have been using the presence of my grandkids to order pizza once a week, (ya, like I really need that). And since they deliver, it's not likely I'll discontinue the practice on cold, icky nights! OK..here is where I HAVE to add my two cents!
I had a bad experience with Me-N-Eds as well.
A few weeks back, I ordered Pizza for my family,I put the order on my credit card, and all was well, we all ordered a 2 litre of Pepsi to be delivered with it. 10 minutes later, I was called by the manager who told me they put my card through, but then realized they should have charged me $10.00 more, I asked them to explain this, but they had a hard time, so they said they would just forget about the other $10.00. I figured they just messed up , and let it go.
The pizza got here, and as the driver left we realized he forgot to give us our Pepsi, so I called back and let them know, they said they would contact him and send him right back.
He did come back in a few minutes and as he handed me the pepsi, told me that the owner said to tell me, "I have to write a check for $10.00 more dollars now or pay $3.00 dollars next time I came in. I found this to be very strange so I told him I would call the manager and he said they would be calling me.
I never heard from them and it all got forgotten I guess, I just don't go back there, because I don't trust them. It was all very fishy...by the way, the correct amount was charged on my credit card.

O.K., y'all I KNOW I was one of the first to praise Me & Eds.....but things have changed since then. My son in law was fired, without any reason a couple of months ago. He tried to get an explanation, but was told it was a corporate decision.
He called corporate & they said that since it was an individual franchise, they didn't have control over hirings & firings...
Oh well, I stand corrected. Thought they were nice people.

I am all in favor of giving a new business a try or even 2 or 3. It's very hard to make it up here in the mountains or anywhere else for that matter but especially here. To make it here you have to have a good product but even more important is the service level to back it up. Word of mouth travels fast in a small town.

I agree, Round Table is much better pizza. I have found that Me-n-Eds is only good every other pizza. Sometimes it tastes really bad, yet sometimes really good. Round Table on the other hand is always good. If they would deliver business would sky rocket. Me-n-Eds delivery service is definately the only thing they have going for them.

I'm a bit angry at the moment and would like to take this opportunity to vent. Let me first tell you that Me N Eds has delivered to my home many times. I live 9 miles from town, but I always tip the driver well and don't mind when it takes a bit longer.
I called in an order at 7:30PM this evening for delivery. I gave the girl that answered my phone number and she asked if my name was Mat. The nice girl took my order and told me that the pizza would be at my home in about 50 minutes.
After an hour, I called back to make sure that the pizza driver knew how to get to my house. I know that they had a change in delivery drivers lately. The lady told me "your name is no longer on my screen, so the driver must be on his way".
After another 30 minutes went by (now 9PM), I called back and spoke with the manager on duty (who I happen to know through a member of these forums). I was told that they have no order in the system under my name or with my phone number. She said that they could not send a driver out and I would get $5 off if I came there.
Terrible! They lose my order, refuse to send another driver and offer $5 as a compensation. The $5 off made me a bit more angry, actually.
I'll never order from this place again. If anyone asks me where a good pizza place is in Oakhurst, I'll send them to Round Table. Round Table has better pizza and better service. I wish they delivered. That's the only thing Me N Eds had going for them, in my opinion.

I have dined in at Me N Eds about 5 times.
The First time everything was great we had a small pizza and salads. My wife likes their salad bar better that the others.
The second time I noticed the Pizza was larger? Then I looked at the Size pans and see that the First time they gave us a Medium. Some one screwed up.
The Third time I called in an order but wanted it to be Dine IN. The Girl on the phone was confused on why I would call in if I was going to eat it there. When I got there I told whom I think was the same girl my name and that I called in an order. I had to tell her what I ordered but she acted like she had my order in the system. She Rang up the order and gave us our salad plates and about 4 minutes later our pizza was done. About 15 minutes later another pizza for our order for us was up. The Airhead wrote up our order twice.
We went a few more time and the Pizza was OK but NOT Great like the Mariposa Pizza factory or Gold Mine pizza but My wife likes the salad bar and it is close the THE MET so we can go directly to see a Flick.
Sunday 3/27 was terrible! We decided to call a few friends and have us meet for Pizza.
We ordered our usual but got one size larger. One of my friends that never been there before ordered pizza and asked if they had filtered water or was the soda Machine filtered. The Girl at the Counter was confused and said ”I don’t know”. It was not busy at the time and about 2 people sitting and eating. 4 people in line to order but it took the girl about 5 minutes to take each persons order. Our 2 medium pizzas took over 30 minutes.
Our pizza had TO MUCH sauce; the thick crust was Soggy in the middle and hard on the edges but cause of too much sauce and Very little Cheese. Our friends Pizza was the same but even less cheese. I only had one piece because it tasted so bad. My friend went up to the counter just to let them know that the pizza had very little cheese and the said OH that is how we make them. And turned around and went back to work.
The thing I noticed about the last few times I have been there is the Lack of competent employees. This is a problem for all Fast food and Teen type jobs. They just don’t care about their job and the employer can’t really fire them because there are not enough good part time employee prospects up here. A lot of it has to do with no way to get to work when you live in YLP and don’t have a car. In the City you can take a bus.
My picks for best pizza are MARIPOSA Pizza factory and Gold Mine Pizza in Coarsegold. The only bad think is I live in Ahwahnee.

It needed to improve. The customer service was horrible. The food was great but the hassles weren't worth it. We were there one night and they locked us in. Literally locked us in. They said they didn't make enough dough the night before and didn't want to take any further orders. It was 6 p.m. on a Saturday night. After speaking with the owner they were trying to get the management issue straightend out, I truly hope they did. It has such potential.

My daughter KJ has worked for Al and Sim twice. She left them and went to work at a resort for a while, and came back to them. Shes now moving away, and still considers them to be good friends.
That said, I'll say the first time I had Me and Eds pizza up here, I was very unimpressed. I'll also tell you all that my daughter was working that day. The pizza was lacking sauce. If there was any, I don't know where it was hidden. I mean, nothing red on that pizza except the pepperoni. I ate it, and talked about it with KJ.
The next time I had their pizza, it was great. Sauce was tasty. crust was crispy and good. Next time was a Valley Vegie. Can a meatless pizza get any better than that? And no, KJ wasn't working there those times. Not that she was the problem, I'm just saying, my daughter didn't do anything special for me.
Al, Sim, consistancy is the answer. Someone earlier said RT was consistantly mediocre. I agree. If your pizza was consistantly as good as those last 2 times, you would have lines at the door.
As for the running out of dough, its sure hard to figure out what those customers are going to do. And when the dough has to set up, you can't just make a little more. Its hard to find the ballance between the right amount and costly waste. You guys will get it figured out. And I'll be back in for another pizza soon.

I just wanted to say that last weekend my family and my best friends family went to Me N Eds after the dance recital.
The staff was super pleasant and helpful. My order came out perfectly...and it wasn't an easy one.
I also ordered a thin crust pizza with light cheese on one side and extra on the other. It was so good! came fast and I had a little trouble at one point with the juke box taking my dollar, so the employee came out and helped. Super nice. I wish he had a name tag, but I didn't see anyone with one. I'd give him credit here, but all the employees were nice.

I worked there, was a manager there...through some of the roughest times...in the begining...there were many kinks to work out...a big one being a lack of training an knowledge on everybody's part...I don't know about the pizza now...haven't eaten there since I left...Art and Sim are great people, but you don't have to agree with their business decisions, it's not your business...I don't scorn them or desire to work for them again..it's hard learning to manage from people who are learning themselves...just be patient...if you don't like the consistency....wait for a while, give them some time...biggest suggestion of all...don't go on a busy weekend if you want a perfect pizza quickly...call ahead...and understand that they have a high turnover rate, thusly are constantly training new people..it's not as easy as it sounds...you try learning to run a business and teaching others to do the same...I hope the Best for Art and Sim...their kids are great and they are wonderful friends...

Okay we went to Me N Eds pizza tonight. Now we haven't been there in a while.. but we got this:
2Lrg Pizza's two toppings on each 8 soda's One glass of bud lite, and Garlic Bread and Hot wings.
It cost us $70.00. the pizza was good but the service sucked and they don't bring you your food anymore I guess. and the garlic bread was right before our pizza and our hot wings came after the pizza was done. I was so dissappointed in all the service. It seems like they are going way down hill. that is to bad too. And the saled bar was closed at 9:00pm what is that???????
I could of gone to round table and paid that price ... but I thought I would let ya know about Me N Ed's...

90-100% should be adequate for any fast food joint...
They aren't expecting tips are they? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif
If anyone needs to know what really bad fast food employees
are like, do a search for the Subway's thread. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/freak.gif
What I expect from fast food staff:
1)Semi-friendy. A hello and a smile is enough.(Even if it's fake)
2)Tells me what my change back is, and hands it to me. Nothing
I hate more than having to pick coins off the counter. If they
actually count the change back as they place it in my hand, I
am very pleasantly surprised.
3)Knowledgable about the menue. How many times have you seen
people look up and behind at the menue board to see if an item
is on it? http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/shocked.gif
4)Says thank you when finishing the money exchange, and when
handing over the food.
5)Takes care of order remakes in a friendy, professional manner.
The customer is always right, even when they are wrong... http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif

Our favorite is Me N Eds Pizza and their garlic cheese bread. We tried Pizza Factory here and it's way to greasy. Pizza Factory in North Fork is way better but this summer it dosen't seem as good as the last. As far as Round Table they're ok but very expensive. But then everyone has their own opinion. The Mexican Place by Me N Eds is really bad. If they are the ones moving into the old Hondo's that is very disapointing. As far as Subway they are the worst.....Still looking for a good fish N chip place, haven't found that yet.

Try crabcakes. Good fish & chips and everything! Tried Me and Ed's once when they first opened and got sandwiches - haven't tried pizza yet. Anyhow the sammys were not good at all and we never went back. Guess I'll give it another try and get pizza this time.

yeah.. same here. There seems to be no decent fish and chips this side of The Pond. And why can't Yanks offer Malt vinegar for chips and fish. Im also still looking for a REAL Kebab shop... not the shish kebab stuff in fresno..but real DonarKebabs with garlic sauce and onions.

I have tried Crab Cakes last year, hubby and I both went there. I had their fish & chips and was not impressed at all. Everyone kept telling us how good they were, well I won't go back there. I will have to try Todd's fish & chips. As far as Me N Ed's we usually order pizza and garlic cheese bread and we have not had any problems with that. My daughter and her boyfriend also worked for them when they first opened and my daughter was let go for some reason due to the wife. I have also heard things that have been done there by there employees but will not say what to protect the innocent. Anyway, everyone has a right to their own opinion. Good Luck.....I tried Round Table and they are VERY expensive but nothing great. Todd's here we come....

I went to a children's birthday party on Saturday at the YHS pool (great place to have a summer party, by the way). They had Me N Ed's pizza...thin crust. Everyone loved the pizza.
I think I prefer the Me 'n Ed's style over the thick crust kind. It kind of reminds me of traditional Italian style. Anyone ever have pizza at a Buca Di Beppo's? It's so unilke your average pizza chain pizza and nothing at all like Chicago pie-style ...really thin crust. Me 'n Eds isn't as extreme, but it sort of reminds me of it.
As far as delivery goes...the party-host was told on the day before that the pizzas could be delivered to the party site, then the morning of he or she was told that there wasn't anyone who could deliver the pizzas so they had to be picked up. So does delivery just kind of depend on the given time the pizza is needed?
*Yosemite Wolf, we do have malted vinegar for fish'n chips at Todd's. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

This sounds braggy but it isn't meant to be ... my favorite fish 'n' chips is what I make myself. And yeah, that malt vinegar is the way ta go! I even roll my fish 'n' chips up in newspaper cones.
As far as the Old Mexico Taqueria goes, I haven't been there for way over a year, probably close to two, since I usually don't have "eat out" money any more, but back when I used to eat there, I loved it. I grew up around a lot of Mexican families and I felt that the people there at that time really knew how to cook. Maybe it is different now, because I keep seeing posts from OF people who say they think it's awful. I should go back and see what's what.

I ate in the Me N Ed's pizza restaurant tonight, and I liked it. The tables were pretty messy though. There were three people standing around behind the counter BSing and should of been clearing some of the mess of the tables, but that sounds like a management problem. The woman cashier was very patient (much more patient then I would of been) with some non english speaking tourists ahead of us.
Pizza was sooo good! And they do deliver still... I heard differently, but I stand corrected.

But, please get rid of those baked Lays potato chips that come with the sandwiches...
I hate to throw an unopened bag in the garbage...

I agree the pizza has been good. Went there on New Year's day for my other son's birthday...everything was great! Pizza very good. Service very friendly.
I prefer the atmosphere at Me 'n Ed's over Round Table (where I had some issues just two weeks before). RTP's brightly fluorescent lit "party room" with white walls felt so sterile and much like a hospital cafeteria...I prefer warm lighting and warm colored walls.
Very busy at Me 'n Eds on New Years Day...the Old Mexico Taqueria next door was closed for the holiday.

Pizza Pizza.... no dont let the BAKED Lays go! Can ya keep a selection of two? Baked lays for us ladies who need to watch fat and cholestrol. (and for those men who need to watch fat and cholestrol). Original Lays are a heart attack in a bag. So, can ya keep both around? For Sammies, I just like regular ol chips... tater chips, and now the baked variety. no fancy smacy flavours on the chips, cos it deters from the yummy sammie.

I like Me and Ed's. Pretty good pizza (when they get "thick crust" and not "thin crust", more than once I got a thin one (hate it)).
In another thread I posted how dissapointed I was that Me and Ed's doesn't deliver farther than Goldside. I live about a mile away from Goldside and they refused to deliver to me. I'm sorry, but if you drive to the end of Goldside and back again, that is the distance to my house and back and really what is the difference?
Pizza Factory delivers up to Neufields. And if you live farther than that they will meet you there. That is what I call a compromise. This is not the city where you have city blocks you cut off. This is the mountains, and who wants to drive the extra 5 miles... well 10 miles to get a pizza from Me and Ed's when you can order at Pizza Factory with same prices and friendliness and get it delivered?
Please reconsider!
