Talking Bear

Ok, I realize this isn't news, except to me, and I am embarassed to admit we have lived up here 6 years and I have never stopped to see what the TALKING BEAR had to say. Well, tonight, on the way home from the Barry McGuire/Independence day concert in the park, we stopped. I say we....we have visitors from Calgary Canada and they saw that Oakhurst was the home of the talking bear on the internet and wanted to know what it says. Does anyone know? NOTHING I was so disappointed.....it had nothing to say. Anyone know why or for how long it has been silent, or did it ever talk?

He hasn't talked in a loooooooong time. Last I heard him was about 2001 and he was bragging about how much advanced he was compared to humans. Well, I guess that meant until his battery went dead!

The Bear used to talk and told the history of Bears and Yosemite sort of anyway....it was full of information about the area.. It has no battery ...it was a tape from a machine inside Ditton Realty. It used to break all the time. It used to stall...it used to become slow....it did alot of things and I think it was costly and time consuming to always try to fix....this bear was put there by Ditton and maintained for many years. I'm not sure why it isn't still maintained other than it broke so much I think Brad finally probably lost interest in maintaining it.
