Has anyone ever tried to be hypnotised to stop a bad habit? I'm scheduled to go to one in Fresno next Wednesday to quite smoking. He claims to have a 92% success rate. Any thoughts?

I think its all in the person. Ive known four people who have been hypnotized to quit smoking or to eat less. 0 of 4 were successful. JOLLY RANCHERS! As far as Im concerned, thats the only way to quit smoking.

My Aunt did it to quit smoking 7-8 months ago and so far it's been successfull.

This site has helped many, many friends and acquantiences (I know my spelling has gone downhill since I got pregnant) in the past couple years.

Seriously, not one of them smokes anymore.

Take your time, read Joel's articles/library, and get realistic with your addiction. Get hypnotised if you feel you want to, but try this first, it's free. And as far as I know, 100% effective.

Nicotine's half-life inside you is about two hours. Within a maximum of 72 hours your blood serum and body will be 100% nicotine free and chemical withdrawal will have peaked in intensity and have started to gradually decline. But just one puff of nicotine and you will again face up to 72 hours of initial detox anxieties, a back to back energy draining feat which few have the endurance to complete. None of us are stronger than nicotine but then we don't need to be as it's only a chemical with an I.Q. of zero. Knowledge is power!

What a great site. I've spent the last hour learning. I'm still going to do the hypnosis thing as I'm doing it with my husband's sister and her 2 daughters. It's my Christmas present to them. And myself. This site is going to be a great tool that I'm going to pass on to them. Thanks so much!
