We have a big TV at our house. We can have an OO party. We have a deck and a BBQ too.

If you decide to have an /oakhurst Forums party at your home, I would suggest finding out who is going to go first, then send directions via a private topic.
It's very nice for your offer. I'm sure The Thorn would also be happy to have us again.

If my house weren't such a disaster, I'd offer our place. We've got a big screen (not giant, or new) and a (of course, pool table)
Gotta talk to jack on this one, but I'm sure we could do the Thorn, but maybe this time with someone else driving.

Bleh football.
Shansard January is the coldest month of the year... so I am thinking that BBQ may not be the best idea..
I might show up though. I can be a designated driver.

I think a superbowl party would be great, even if the Raiders aren't there, I could still wear my Raiders hat I just got for my birthday.
And I think a bbq in Jan. would be ok, a little cold weather never hurt anyone, (I said a little). It sometimes gets hot inside some houses when there is cooking and/or a lot of people. Going outside might feel good.

Just another .02 from me on the subject of having the party in a private residence..
It may not be the safest idea. Not to say that any of you are axe murderers or robbers or anything of the sort... Everyone here is quite friendly and trustworthy, but you do never know... and if you invite everyone from the forum, some people who do not always talk or we are familiar with may show.. basically you just don't always know everyone's intentions. No one I knew thought Cary Stayner was a murderer, including myself... you don't always suspect thats all.

You probably wouldn't want me at your Superbowl party... I tend to make lots of jokes cause I get bored with any sports on TV - I'd rather be playing !!!
But... If Newcomer is game, I'll come along - or maybe... the men can go watch the game (and ladies that want to) and the others, we'll go shopping!!!
Newcomer knows that can be dangerous though... One year while Superbowl was on... I went out and bought and brought home our 4-Runner! Hee Hee... Maybe its time for a new car!

I spoke with TJ at The Thorn last night and he told me that he is planning a Superbowl party at The Thorn! http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/eusa_dance.gif
I'm going to go!
For those that do not know, The Thorn is located inside The Velvet Rose Restaurant below the Best Western in Oakhurst.
100 karma points will be given to all members that attend, plus an additional 20 points will be given for each friend you bring to the party! http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/yes.gif
TJ plans to offer some drink specials and some snacks to munch on while we enjoy the game.
Come on out and have some fun with us for the first Oakhurst Area Forums Superbowl Party at The Thorn.

Remember, you do not have to watch the game... there is a pool table and I may try to bring a dart board if TJ has a spot to put it up.
Perhaps I should bring my foosball table also? http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/confused2.gif Does anyone here like foosball?
We could also play some dominoes or cards... http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/idea3.gif
It will be an all day event, so top by for a bit even if you have another party to go to. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/yes.gif http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/cheers.gif

Let's all pitch in on a room and sober up at the indoor pool after the party. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/idea3.gif
...then anyone that wants to stay in the room can do so...
...or, we can all pitch in some cash to someone that wants to play taxi???
Also remember, I think kids can go. It is a restaurant and they serve food... so kids can be in there as long as they do not sit at the bar. This is handy for the parents of 16 year olds. http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/wink420.gif http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/lol.gif
