Don Wilson of North Fork passed away last night. I do not know all of the details yet. I just got a call from my Mom this afternoon to let me know that she may be flying in for the services. My Mom and Don's wife, Betty Wilson, were good friends and worked together for many years at North Fork Supermarket.

I was told that Don was ill at Christmas and was diagnosed with cancer. They gave him 2 - 12 months, but he passed away a week after that.

Many remember Don as the coolest school bus driver in the hills. He drove a school bus in North Fork for many years. I think he retired a few years ago. Don was one of the coolest guys I know. It is such a sad time for Betty right now. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

I'll update you with details as I learn of them.... or... please update me if you hear first.

Is this the Don that drove the bus for Sierra High School at least from 1993-1997?

Yes http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gif It's the same Don that we have talked about. (Curtis Weathorfords step-father)

It looks like services will probably be on Saturday. Betty asked that my Mom come next week instead, after everyone else leaves. It's going to be a hard adjustment living alone and it will be helpful to have my Mom here when everyone else is gone.

I haven't seen an obituary yet.

I have heard that services are tomorrow (Saturday). I'll wait until everyone else is gone to go.
