Officers arrests woman at scene of tornado

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MERCED - Allegedly driving without a seat belt and no driver's license in an area where law enforcement officers are providing traffic control is a good way to get a citation.

Driving in the same area in a stolen car is a sure way to go to jail as 44-year-old Priscilla Marie Olivas, of Merced found out, said California Highway Patrol Officer Shane Ferriera.

The arrest occurred Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. when CHP officers were directing traffic after a roof ripped off a barn by a tornado landed on Gerard Avenue blocking traffic.

CHP Officer Mike Kolodziej reported stopping a Chevrolet Astro van driven by Olivas in the 8900 block of Mission Road to let the driver know the road was closed. He noticed the driver was not wearing a seat belt.

A vehicle check showed the SUV was reported stolen in Merced, and Olivas was arrested, the officer said.

She was booked into Merced County Jail on suspicion of vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

Now that's what I call a good criminal, I bet she was driving up, wanting to be noticed, so that she could turn herself in, just cause she felt guilty about stealing the car. LOL!!!!!!

I'm calling the company of a truck that almost ran me off the road today. Me an Cj went to the bank at the grocery store. as we're going up the hill headed into Coarsegold where there are 2 lanes. Me in the slow lane and this white truck tailgating me. I turn my blinker on to get into the other lane cause mine was ending he speeds up pulls right beside me as my lane ended. Then he proceeded to tail gate this black honda in front of him until he see's a chp car pulling out of the station in Coarsegold. I wrote down his plate number and followed hoping that one of the 2 light on 41 would be red. Which luckly the one at 417 was. I pulled into the turning lane and wrote down the company name which I will be callling right now.

Oh and its James C Best & Son Contracting

Watch out for him older man dangerous driver.
