The County of Madera will hold a free household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday May 6, 2006 from 9am to 1pm at Yosemite High School.
Items to be accepted during the event include: paint, paint products, thinners, garden chemicals, pool, hot tub, and spa supplies, aerosols, art and hobby supplies, degreasers and solvents, flammable liquids, outdated medicines, pesticides, photographic chemicals, used motor oil, oil fillers, batteries and anti-freeze.
Electronic waste to also be accepted are: stereos, VCR's, TV's, cell phones, microwaves, computer equipment such as monitors, CPU's, mice, printers, keyboards, etc.
Electronic waste can also be brought to the North Fork transfer station for free at any time during the year.
Not Accepted are: Tires, radioactive materials, medical or infectious wastes, explosives, and commercial or small business waste.
