I wonder if anyone wants to change their vote. I'll post a new poll closer to the election to see if anyone changed their mind.

If you give Naders votes to Kerry, it's a tie.

Considering that the political climate of Oakhurst area ranges from Redneck to Reacionary, Kerry is looking like a winner for the rest of the Country.

Who here thinks that Buch will get re-elected? I'm not asking what you want, but what do you think will happen?

I think that Kerry will be our next President.

ya that makes sense http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/goofy.gif

If thats how you vote, why even vote? http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/idea3.gif

In a few years (2005) the Iraq people will finally be able to vote, something they have never been able to do, as for some people in America who forget the meaning of the freedom to make your own decision and vote for who you feel is right, and not make the decision out of anger, and flip a coin.

Its your right to vote, so vote, were lucky were in a country thats able to choose.

How about a vote for Al Sharpton? you guys have the same views of Bush, even though he's not running, its your choice to choose who ever.

And by the way I did not vote for Bush when he was elected, but there is no way I would ever vote for Kerry, if you think things could ever get worse, just wait and see when "Mr sometimes Anti War, votes to go after Iraq, Jane Fonda, whoops I lied about throwing my war metals away after finding them on his wall" will do.

I havent said much because I seem to make em angry ..... We turned over political power sooner then we said ... elections will come if the Rebels do not win... the New Government has said they will seek out the Anti-Iraqi rebels...
If the UN would step up like they first said we could start troop removal sooner then expected .... We will be there a while ... remember after WWII we were in Germany for years helping to set up ... and Japan longer ....

we are ahead of schedual in doing what we said ....

Also ... why not vote for Elvis.... this is a poor way of voting ... and exactly how we got Carter to ruin our economy and moral ...

I think Richard Clark is a "big boob" trying to make money selling books, try listening to Sixty Minutes interview with Leslie Stahl.

He went around telling friends and foe to go after and bomb Afghanistan first, and the whole time he thinks Bush is hearing this through the grape vine, and blames Bush for not taking action...what a bunch of pew!!

Kerry also voting to go to war against Iraq, but he says he would have went in without saying there were WMD's, and would have went in a different way then Bush, asked how? that should only be dicussed behind closed doors, also stated he would have had more allies, and would have used less troops, ask how? It's good to see there are people in America that understand what is happening around the world, that far from helping other countries the US under Bush is harming them, not just in the military action it takes, but in economic and environmental issues. We all have to work together to make this world a better and safer place, and I don't feel it is safer now than 2 or 3 years ago.

You seem to be obsessed with hate. It’s not a matter of the world hating Americans, it’s that much of the world is opposed to what the Bush regime is doing to it. As for this “huge scandle in France.... the food for Oil money is mostly there” while there is much in the news about this I don’t think you will find it is a “huge scandal in France” or that “the food for Oil money is mostly there” - come on, let’s see some of those elusive links you love so much.

Just for the record Jimi I agree with you as I also do not believe in (opinion) polls, the real poll often results in a different outcome, so the opinion polls should only be taken as a rough guide to what may happen.

http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/no.gifJohn Kerry's First Purple Hearthttp://oakhurstforums.com/icon/no.gif
Info from SwiftVets.com...Check it out!!!

The action that led to John Kerry's first Purple Heart occurred on December 2, 1968, during the month that he was undergoing training with Coastal Division 14 at Cam Ranh Bay. While waiting to receive his own Swift boat command, Kerry volunteered for a nighttime patrol mission commanding a small, foam-filled "skimmer" craft with two enlisted men. The purpose of the patrol, which Kerry later described as "a half-assed action that hardly qualified as combat," was to find Vietcong guerillas moving contraband around a peninsula north of the bay on sampans.
At the target location Kerry saw a group of sampans unloading something on the shore, and lit a flare to illuminate the area. The men from the sampans ran, and Kerry and his crew opened fire. At that point, according to Kerry, "My M-16 jammed, and as I bent down in the boat to grab another gun, a stinging piece of heat socked into my arm and just seemed to burn like hell." (page 147, "Tour of Duty") Kerry and his men strafed the beach, shot up the sampans and returned to Cam Ranh Bay.
As an officer in command (OIC) in training, Kerry reported during this mission to William Schachte, who eventually retired as a Rear Admiral. Schachte flatly contradicts Kerry's claim to have been wounded by enemy fire, saying that after his M-16 jammed, Kerry picked up an M-79 grenade launcher and fired a grenade that exploded too close to the boat, causing a small piece of shrapnel to stick in the skin of his arm. Kerry himself did not report receiving hostile fire that night, which would have been required, and there is no record of hostile fire for the mission.
Kerry succeeded in keeping the small piece of shrapnel in his arm until the following day, when he was treated by Dr. Louis Letson, whose version of the event matches William Schachte's account rather than Kerry's:
I have a very clear memory of an incident which occurred while I was the Medical Officer at Naval Support Facility, Cam Ranh Bay. John Kerry was a (jg), the OinC or skipper of a Swift boat, newly arrived in Vietnam. On the night of December 2, he was on patrol north of Cam Ranh, up near Nha Trang area. The next day he came to sick bay, the medical facility, for treatment of a wound that had occurred that night.
The story he told was different from what his crewmen had to say about that night. According to Kerry, they had been engaged in a fire fight, receiving small arms fire from on shore. He said that his injury resulted from this enemy action.
Some of his crew confided that they did not receive any fire from shore, but that Kerry had fired a mortar round at close range to some rocks on shore. The crewman thought that the injury was caused by a fragment ricocheting from that mortar round when it struck the rocks.
That seemed to fit the injury which I treated.
What I saw was a small piece of metal sticking very superficially in the skin of Kerry's arm. The metal fragment measured about 1 cm. in length and was about 2 or 3 mm in diameter. It certainly did not look like a round from a rifle.
I simply removed the piece of metal by lifting it out of the skin with forceps. I doubt that it penetrated more than 3 or 4 mm. It did not require probing to find it, did not require any anesthesia to remove it, and did not require any sutures to close the wound.
The wound was covered with a bandaid.
Not [sic] other injuries were reported and I do not recall that there was any reported damage to the boat.
The following morning, John Kerry arrived at the office of Coastal Division 14 Commander Grant Hibbard to apply for a Purple Heart. Having already been informed by Schachte that Kerry's injury was self-inflicted rather than the result of hostile fire, Commander Hibbard told him to "forget it." Hibbard recently said of Kerry's minor scratch, "I’ve seen worse injuries from a rose thorn."
Nevertheless, John Kerry managed to obtain his coveted Purple Heart for this incident nearly three months later after being transferred to Coastal Division 11. The circumstances remain obscure, as there are no written records of this award on file at the Naval Historical Center. Various other documents that might shed light on this award remain unavailable due to Senator Kerry's refusal to release his complete military records.
Military regulations state that to qualify for a Purple Heart, an injury must come "from an outside force or agent," and treatment for the wound must "have been made a matter of official record." While John Kerry managed to satisfy the second criterion by insisting that an amused Dr. Letson provide an official Band-Aid, nicking himself with a fragment from his own poorly-aimed grenade fails to meet the first qualification.

No big deal, it's just that when someone throws out statements like that it seems intended to do nothing but start fights, and that's not what this forum is for, so we've been told,. Now if you want to debate opinions that's great, but why not use something with substance instead of just calling one political party or candidate names. Agree with me or not that's fine, Just my opinion.

Bush will beat Bush. How long can this clown keep people thinking that he is smart enough to be president. His gross failures on the economy, environment, war on terriorism, the war in Iraq, and the animosity he has created among our traditional allies will bring this bungling cowboy down. His convention has already evaporated. His National Guard none-service is coming to light, and his bull headed belief that he does not make mistakes are showing off his ignorance and incompetence.

The world is laughing at us for almost electing this jerk. We can't let him steal another four years.

The latest Intelligence Report does not show much hope that the Iraqis will be able to vote and have anything that resembles a democratic government. Civil war, and Theocracy are more likely. Bush is just not bright enough to have forseen the disaster that is likely to follow.

I have a great respect for them fighting for their piece of the pie... It's no different than what any other ethnic group in this country is/has done.

I find it amusing that they are using our system to do it to! http://oakhurstforums.com/icon/wink2.gif

What's more... Instead of sitting on their @$$ and whining about it, they are doing something instead of expecting a hand out.

If you don't want the Native American's to succeed in their endeavor, then don't gamble in their establishments...
