Un-solved Murder Investigations
Jun 10, 2006 - Police are trying to determine if a Fresno man is a serial killer. Roger Hausmann is currently in the Fresno County Jail on kidnapping and assault charges. However, investigators say he is considered a possible suspect in 35 different murder cases.

Cabinets of cold case files at the Fresno Police Department fill an entire room, and now investigators say they are considering a Fresno man's possible involvement in 25 of these unsolved murders.

Police say Roger Dana Hausmann was first investigated for murder in 1991, when he beat-up a prostitute with an iron. The 65 year-old did time for assault, but was released two years later.

Hausmann re-emerged as a possible suspect in dozens of local murders, after his arrest in early 2005, on kidnapping and assault charges, after allegedly beating two young women in his van.

Randy Dobbins, Fresno Police Department, says most of the cold case victims were young African American women, and some were prostitutes. Hey says, Hausmann is a self-described pimp, and police reports shows his alias as “Super Honkey”.

Besides the un-solved murders in Fresno, he maybe linked to ten others in the Los Angeles area. They go as far back as 1997.

Sergeant Curt Chastain says he is optimistic, and there will eventually be closure for the victims’ families and investigators.

Police say they have a lot of circumstantial evidence, and are testing Hausmann’s DNA with samples from all the murder cases he may been connected to, but they are also considering that others could have been involved as well.

In court documents Hausmann says, prosecutors are just being vindictive. He remains in jail while the kidnapping and assault case is being settled.
