"NORTH FORK"
VERSE 1
They say it started long ago
Before the mill, the winds did blow
The Mono lived upon the land
Rivers and the streams, they ran
Left nature with its loving hand
A jewel for all to see
CHORUS
North Fork, you're my home
Above the fog, below the snow
A smile, a wave, and "How are things?"
People there are proud to be
The heart of the Sierra sings
A song for you and me
VERSE 2
The wonder that's in Saginaw,
From Cascadel to Peckinpah
At Mile-High you'll see a sight
T o Mammoth Pool where eagles fly
And at the gate there stands a light
That shines for all to see, Oh
(repeat chorus)
VERSE 3 - MUSIC
VERSE 4
There's lakes to fish and trails that go
To places that you've never known
The sky comes alive at night
Shooting star, God's candlelight
A simple and a quiet life
Is waitin' there for me, In
(repeat chorus 2 times)

That's cool! We're new to the area but I'm sure my daughter will learn it in school soon. I don't think I've ever lived in a town that had its own song.

The Sugar Pine Trio is still around. They play during the Moonlight Specials in the summer at the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad.

the sugar pine trio is quite a gas.... i went on the moonlight special in October. The train ride rocks.. esp the masked horse who holds up the train.
