I have a close friend who's graduating from Law School this May and I'm looking for a good "practical" gift for a young attorney. I would guess the price range is $50 - $300. Any suggestions?

here's an idea ... it is a desk clock of genuine marble and designed with a logo representing attorneys and law...very reasonable price, too.

Another idea is to order a personalized desk name plate, if there's time for that. Or a gift certificate for it.

A weekly planner for his briefcase. Every lawyer needs one.

How about a nice briefcase or rolling tote case.

I have a friend who is graduating soon for a professional position and I got her a very nice business card holder for her purse, something like that might be nice for a man too. I had it monogramed.

"Things Remembered" in the mall has beautiful gifts you can engrave the name and date of graduation...

A great gift at the very bottom of your price range would be indie music label LawTunes' (www.lawtunes.com) "The LawTunes Jury Boxed Set" -- four CDs of humorous original law-related rock-and-roll songs composed and produced by a practicing attorney. The albums incorporate a broad spectrum of popular/classic rock-and-roll styles, taking on the law, lawyers, and legal practice in a hilarious, but positive, way. They truly are "The Musical Scales of Justice"! Congratulations and best wishes to the graduate!
