I am so sick of stupid movies in which people are stranded in the jungle, desert, wherever their plane crashed or boat landed, and all the guys are properly dressed with long, protective shirt sleeves and long pants, boots, etc. All of the gals, however, are always "dressed" in low-cut, skimpy tank tops and shorts, no matter that anyone in their right mind going into wilderness conditions would NOT be dressed like that, exposed to elements, scratches and cuts, insects, sunburn, extreme temperatures, snake bites, etc.
I'm not talking about hikes or backpacking, as these movies usually have a research team going into unexplored territory. Oh, another thing -- when chased, the girls always trip and fall. And how do the writers and directors manage to insert the mandatory "shower scene" in wilderness settings? Easy! The "girl bathes in the waterfall" scene!
Grrrr.... isn't there a movie maker somewhere who can get past this tired, overused crap? I am not usually into women's lib stuff, but it sure would be nice to see a movie where the female characters aren't just thrown in as eye candy.
