It's funny you should mention Carlos Hathcock. He was my Sniper School instructor. I was in his last class at Quantico before he retired.

No kidding, I hear he had some problems in his last years due to an accident

Yea, he had some health issues, but that didn't stop him from doing what he loved "shooting". He actually died of cancer from agent orange. One of the best Marines I had ever met, he's the reason I stayed till retirement. He not only taught markmanship he taught survival.

Interesting. What kind of optics did you use, and what was your rifle setup? sunaj

Well, back in the eighties we used the M24 308cal with a 12X nikon scope. The ammunition was all match grade. Most of the rifles were put together by the armourer section tec guys. What do you shoot? Since I left the Marine Corps. I haven't done a lot of shooting, my eyes are not as good as they used to be.
