I'd have to go with Sam Kinison, Richard Pryor, Jerry Sienfeld and Eddie Murphy, just to start with.

I've never laughed harder or more often than when my oldest son is around. He is so much funnier than any of the famous comedians I can think of. But he would probably make a lot of people mad because his humor is about as anti-PC as you can get.

So much genius in so many different forms of comedy. Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, John Cleese, Billy Crystal, John Belushi. I think Robin Williams is the quickest on his feet.

Ron will be live in Hanford...Is it the end of this month or the beginning of Feb.?
I watched Bill Cosby "Himself" the other night. It's one of my favorites, even though it's probably 25+ years old...

RW will be in Fresno in March. I have a few old Bill Cosby records on CD; love them...you all may snicker at this, but Charlee Simons makes me laugh my *** off.

The Firesign Theatre. Phil Austin, Peter Bergman, David Ossman, and Phil Proctor. They started on KPFK radio in 1966 although The Second City group who later became SCTV had ushered in modern improv The Firesign Theatre took it to another level. They were like the Marx brothers on acid. They were politcally motivated. Their 1970 Album Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers really changed the face of comedy. Colleges even added courses on firesign technique. They've spent 30 years breaking up and getting back together. I understand their 2002 effort The Bride of Firesign was nominated for a grammy. If you never heard them you've missed some funny stuff.

Robin Williams is the King of Comedy; his mind works at a furious pace and it is fascinating to see how quickly he can improvise--and with quality. I was flipping the channels and was delighted to see him on "Who's Line is it Anyway," and was reminded of his genious. Eddie Izzard, Paula Poundstone, Lewis Black, and of course Jon Stewart make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts.
