My wife and I are looking for lodging, starting May 1st for six nights. We will be coming from Oregon to attend a conference at Tenaya Lodge during the days, but need reasonable accommodations with a way to do minimal cooking. Any ideas?

I have a charming Inn just 2 miles from Tenaya, but no cooking accomodations. Our rates begin at $120.00 per night, plus 9% tax and include continental breakfast. Our website is www.narrowgaugeinn.com (http://www.narrowgaugeinn.com).
You also might check with the Best Western, in Oakhurst, about 14 miles south of Tenaya. I think they have some rooms with kitchenettes. Their phone number is 559-683-2378.
(but you have to try our restaurant here at least one night, it's wonderful!)

Best Western is a nice place, if you aren't going to do a B&B, it is the next best thing in town. Though you would have to drive up and down the mountain to get to your conference. There are plenty of restaurants in town, a chinese place right next to Best Western. I believe their rooms have fridges too.
I think you would have to weigh the decision on whether or not you want to drive up a steep, slow ride everyday (although lovely) to get to Tenaya, and then back down and spend less on a room, but probably make up for it with gas cost (almost 3 bucks a gallon in Oakhurst). Or stay up there and eat at the restaurants at Tenaya and Narrow gauge, etc, everynight. Either way, you will surely enjoy your stay here.

I suggest the Narrow Gauge Inn. It's close to Tenaya Lodge and has an excellent restaurant. Enjoy your stay here!

For a real special dinner - the Narrow Gauge Inn cannot be beat! We go there for our anniversary every year... its our tradition.
We need to think to go there more often that that though! http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif
