I can't find the older thread on the new thrift store at the Snowline.
Anyone know their name or phone number? Or hours?
I've tried stopping by twice, they were closed both times. I've heard an item i'm looking for might be there....

It's called "Second Chance" and I think they're closed on Sundays and maybe Mondays too...and they seem to close about 6 pm the rest of the week. But call to find out. I've never been in there, just driven by.

I think I remember it was Dolly from Heartland who opened it....

Youre right Brew.
I was just there this morning. I was holding this dress up and looking at it, when this kitten literally flew out of nowhere and right into the dress I was looking at. I guess they have a macot now.

In putting togther a cool and fun themed dinner table for my Mom's up coming party...I have, over the last couple of days, found my self visiting every thrift and consigment store in town!
Anyways--I had not been in the Second Chance Thrift Store this year. I did go right after they opened, and the one or two more times after that. I liked what I saw. The prices were more than fair, but they did not have much of a selection; to which I attributed to being a new business. Also, I drive right by there 4 days a wekk during NGI season and there were never too many if any cars in the lot. I, sadly, became discouraged, and stopped dropping.
I was more than pleased with my visit yesterday. The store is packed to the rafters, and there is a lot of neat and fun items to be found inside! If it has been a while since you last poked your head in...I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I drove by the Snowline toady and saw a "Closing Sale" sign and a liquor license transfer form in the window. It looks like a local watering hole is moving!

The owner of the bar at "The Jade" is moving up there.

I just hope there won't be any wrecks on that curve. I don't think it's a safe area for a business, but I am not against it. Too bad the thrift store's going....I liked to go there.

ok, I wont hold it in....I think it's a really stupid idea to put a bar on that corner. it's hard enough to get in and out of there when you're awake and sober, I can't imagine what its going to be like for those who leave that place with even a tiny buzz.
what a shame!

When it was the old "snow line" it was a bar and restraunt for years...( and a couple more tried the location after that and failed )
I'm also uncomfortable pulling in and out on that corner, and since the amount of traffic has increased in the many years since the old Snow Line closed down too..... It does seem a lot more treacherous now than it ever was before:confused:

Up until the thrift store was put there...it's history has been bar and restaurant. I don't recall having many accidents there back then,,,,recently as 6 or 7 yrs ago.....no more than there are now anyway.....it is a bad curve as are all of the curves in that stretch. But I wish them luck ...The bar there is gorgeous ...I always thought it was a shame it became a thrift store and covered up the beauty of that building inside....hehehe....I do hope they have food too tho....and dancing...maybe I'm just remembering how much fun it used to be to go there.... hahahaha

I remember when that building was a bar and having to drive home from work passed it at midnight to 2 am. I only saw one accident but it was always a challenge driving passed it. People would pull out all the time without looking. I learned to slow down before I got to that curve because you never knew who would pull out as you were passing by. (I also had many intresting moments folling some of these folks back into Oakhurst.) I think you just have to be aware when you are driving at those hours. It is really no more dangerous then passing any of the other bars in town.

LOL..I always thought the same thing!..I have some crazy memories from back in the day of funtimes at the snowline..always thought it was a shame it became a thrift shop...hopefully they have Karaoke there..havent done that in a while..never usualy out late to notice a traffic hazard with people leaving the bar..but then again...people leaving their house drunk at any time can be a hazard.parking sucks there..always has...

That's always been my question---the County requires so many parking spaces per square foot of business, but it seems this building keeps coming up with 'enough'. Look at the fiasco with the Organic place that didn't go in. They were required to add more parking and specific parking as well, but the thrift store that moved in instead has the same old parking there has always been in that location. A conundrum at best.
