It sounds like alot of people here are having problems with snow on their dishes. When we had a dish on the back deck of the Inn, we sprayed it with Pam cooking spray and that helped the snow to slide off. We could also clear it with a broom. It is now moved to the top of the roof, where we cannot reach it easily and we put an electric heat strip on it and that is keeping our reception clear. Once the threat of snow is over, we will unplug it until the next episode. At home, our is on the roof and we shoot water at it with the hose and that takes care of the problem. Whatever you do, you have to be careful not to change the alignment of the dish or it will affect your service. Hope this helps someone!

That's a good thing to plan for. Snow! Bring it on. Only 97 today. I love those 117v heat strips. Keeps the water in pipes flowing also.

Heat strips/wire can be found at most hardware stores or a Lowes or Home Depot. It is usually found in the plumbing dept and is primarily used for keeping pipes from freezing in the winter. it does require a power cord run to it.
