View Full Version : help! burning cd on windows xp sound is scratchy

Can someone tell me how to fix the problem I have with recording a cd on windows media player. Everytime I burn and play a cd. It plays back and records scratcy..this is driving me nuts! I cant find the solution on the net...

try a slower burn speed and see what happens...

Yep. Good suggestion by Nascar8Fan. Does it sound scratchy on all players, or just on the computer?

actually, even the dvd player on windows media center is scratchy. I really hate these kinds of issues..

I use itunes to download all my music. Then I burn on to a cd

Can you put in a copyright cd (store bought) and see what it sounds like? If it is still "scratchy" it sounds like either the cd/dvd drive, driver or speaker issue.

good idea I'll try that? It may be a driver issue your right.I did try updating from windows still nothing...sometimes I can spend hours trying to figure these things out. Then I screw everything up and end up taking it to sierratel for my my boo boo's to be fixed....sucks!
