Is there a number I can call? I have a burn permit and my brush is piling high.

If you don't know, then you probably don't have a burn permit...you can get one at the Fire station (attached to the Oakhurst Library).

But the number to call is 1-877-429-2876

I don't like to burn anymore... I had a small brush pile that shot flames twenty feet in the air one time.
Much safer to chip it...

Do you own a chipper or do you rent? If renting, where and how much? We checked a couple years ago and it was like $70 bucks a day.

Bought a chipper in town at "Cutting Edge".
I have way too much chipping ahead to pay $60-70/day + the hassle of picking it up and returning it.
I havn't really used it yet. Hope to give it a good workout this weekend.
When I don't have a need for a chipper anymore, I will probably sell it/rent it out.

We prefer to chip, but pretty much ran out of places to put the chips! I suspect we'll run at least a small burn pile this year. Some of the smaller twigs and other woods trash don't really chip well.

If it is not too impolite to ask, how much did you pay for the Chipper? I have been having Asplunde make a couple of chip dumps at my place each year, but i never know what I am going to get. Some woods are toxic to the flowers in my flower beds and there is usually trash like chunks of tires mixed in. I can do with out that.

Hmmm...yours is bigger than mine, but I do have the 32 apple trees that need pruning every year. I will be at Woodchoppers tomorrow for other reasoms, but I still think I will inquire. A new tractor is topping my priority list right now though
