Well, it's official sports fans. The national debt limit was raised to 9 trillion. Do any of us really think this government can survive if it continues to borrow so much money? This activity is beyond stupid and all of us are at fault for not demanding change.

Some other fun numbers:
1. War in Iraq now approaching 400 billion. To put this in perspective, the cost for the first generation fusion reactors is estimated at 10 billion. Obviously the war in Iraq was a very good investment, right?

2. Trade deficit for 2005 - 726 billion

3. Budget deficit for 2005 - 319 billion

Think these amounts are still bearable? Since 1970, in inflation adjusted terms, the federal government has spent 700 billion on transportation projects. Then compare that to our total annual deficit of 1.045 trillion for 2005. Translation: we're screwed.

Start your contingency planning now.

Ya it's a good thing that yesterday the Republicans voted down that 1.25 billion for frivilous things like radiation detectors for all the US ports and cutoms agents for the 97 ports that don't have any now. That 300 million for Gulf Goast emergency communications equipment what a waste that would have been. What's the chance of having another Katrina I mean that global warming is just liberal scientist babble it's those same guys who believe in evolution. No doubt that 1.25 billion would have crushed us.

Bush is taking us from one of the richest countries in the world to the poorest. (or are we already there?) And you can bet none of the other countries will help us like we have "helped" them once we hit bottom. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/sad3.gif
