where do you get your vehicle's oil changed?
Always we did ours ourselves... but now that I have a brand new car.. with warranty I felt obliged to take it to a place to get oil change.. to prove that I was doing req'd maintence. I took my Scoobydoo to "Speedee" in Fresno (next to firestone) on blackstone. I talked to the dude.. said I had had a prob previously with oil change at firestone... where the oil plug wasnt put in right/tight.
OK.. oilchange done. I drive off.... a week later.. MAJOR oil leak. Uh... what? new car? oil leak?
inspection..... the oilplug is HALF OUT!! Dang lucky it didnt fall out as I was driving up/down 41.

called SpeedDee manager.. got a line of BS... that it wasnt there fault.

so where do you get YOUR oil changed?

I use Sierra Automotive in Enterprise center. They have always done a great job for me

YW, I think for the warranty to be valid, you gotta use the dealer..check your policy.
Jack changes my oil, but we switched types. I think we went to synthetic, but that may well be what he changed from. Anyway, stop in Napa and ask him, also, he has a traveling mechanic who comes to the house to work on our vehicles. (I just picked up a brand new engine for one of the cars, fit nicely in my Scooby) The mechanic is gonna drop it in this weekend I think. He went to Sears & did my daughters car while she was at work. Nice.

Were the threads stripped out or cross-threaded?

The person who "inspected" it last should have been able to tell you.

If it's screwed up now, it will only get worse if you let grease monkey's service your car. You should at least warn them that there has been problems with the drain plug in the past, so they can be extra careful next time.

In order for this to be legal, the Dealer/Mfr. must provide the manditory service FREE OF CHARGE. (It's a federal Law)
Some car Mfr's do this. 99% do not.
I know Audi was doing this at one time. Don't know about Subaru.
