From the bar to the rink

Bar-rock favorite Stone River is moving to the ice, performing a pregame concert at the Save Mart Center today at the Fresno Falcons game against the Bakersfield Condors, which starts at 7 p.m.

Stone River, regulars on the bar circuit in Oakhurst and Fresno, will be part of the Falcons' Mardi Gras celebration. Tickets for the game range from $8 to $23.

Stone River Band

The Stone River band will be at The Oak Room in Oakhurst Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15, from 9 p.m. to closing. This seems to be our local rock cover band, playing pretty regularly throughout the area on a regular basis.

I haven't seen them in awhile but have enjoyed their work.

For more information, check with band manager Rima Burt, at (559) 760-4041 or better yet click on www.stoneriverband.net (http://www.stoneriverband.net) to visit the band's Web site.

Stone River turns two

This month two years ago a group of guys got together and performed together for the first time as the Stone River Band. In two years they have added a lot more rock favorites to their repertoire.

The band made its debut performance at the Hook and Ladder in Fresno. The band has played more than 70 shows in more than 20 venues. We get a chance to see Stone River at Yosemite Lakes Park's Blue Heron Restaurant in Coarsegold on Saturday April 29 from 9 p.m. to closing.

And, in true Oak Room form...The sign at the door this last weekend said: $5 Cover Charge w/
all proceeds go to the band. I pointed out the paper said $4 at the door....didn't matter. I just hope the band got all the $$$$

Sorry, that was probably my error.
