View Full Version : Prayers for my Son

Keith
Nov 04, 2006, 10:45 AM
Just got a call from my son's mother.
My son is 18 years old, named Gregory.

Gregory was air lifted by helecopter from San Luis Obispo to Stanford Medical center.
The Surgery is happening now, an anurisum the size of a baseball at his aorta is ready to explode. They are doing open heart surgery, but worried about once they crack the sternum bone the rib pressure could burst the blood pocket.

Gregory has had heart problems his entire life , having several strokes and attacks but this one is the scariest.

So I'm holding on, praying for a good outcome, Hoping that god guides the doctors hands lovingly.

Anyway, Had to Vent http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/anxious.gif,
Thanks For Your Prayers,
KEITH

Great news!!! Modern medicine and good doctors.
Gregory had a 6 1/2 hour surgery, the anurisum did open up upon the chest opening, lots of blood, but the doctors where able to control everything and stablize him, then stable him up.

Now ICU for a few days, hope no infections or complications happen, then go from there.

Thank You to everybody for you thoughts and prayers, it has been a comfort.

All of you are awsome... http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/yes.gif

Hey BGW,
Gregory isn't doing well http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/worried.gif

He lost oxygen and blood to his brain, so he has loss of sight and partial paralysis. He's unable to put words together. Doctor says parts of his brain have died. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/cry.gif

He needs a stent put in his lower aorta, but blood pressure fluxuates to much to attempt at this time.
He's in ICU , they're hoping that he can respond to thearapy in time. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

So pins and needles, needles and pins... http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/anxious.gif
I went to the Elks lodge on 11-11-06 for the Veterans Day function, but couldn't stay more than 30 minutes. Went to monday night football tonight.Couldn't get into it.

I've got two days of MRI's myself, at Fresno Imaging, this next tuesday and wednesday then back up to Stanford, to be with Gregory.

When I go to the cafateria at Stanford, I'll look for a spork and salt packet, then when I'm back in town we'll all have to get together for another Forums Lunch Date. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

Every day is a gift..Thanks for the kind words..Keith

Keith--
Goodness, I don't know what to say; other than; with everything going on around you right now worrying about what needs to be taken care in your daily life is a major distraction and causes more stress than is warranted.

With that said...I want to remind you that I am not working right now and if you need someone to feed a pet(s) or any of those other daily necessities and/or obligations we all take for granted...I am more than available and willing to help with anything I can. Let me sweat your small stuff. Check you PM's for my cell phone number.
