anybody on the OFs metal detect? new to the hobby,and just wondering if there are some treasure hunters in the local area.

You aren't getting much response. Perhaps if you were going metal detecting at night over by The Oak Room, you'd have lotsa company. I bet you want my 1906 Indian Head penny, don't you!

I don't, but I think I remember seeing someone searching the Bass Lake shore near falls beach awhile back.

The grass at the Oakhurst Comm. Park after a big event sounds like a good place to look.

Sky, I've done some metal detecting in the past. It really depends on what you are going after as to where you detect. I've found some 1920's, 30's siver coins and buffalo nickels around old sites.... churches... old parks. I would think some of the old mining towns would be good targets....
