I am one of the voters who said they hate DST. I just want the time left one way or the other. I dislike having to set all the clocks back and forth, although the one on my computer will do it automatically. It's bad enough having to do that whenever the power goes off, which where I live, seems to be almost every time a storm hits.
I am not sure if it is true, and perhaps those of you with hospital experience can comment, but I once had an ER nurse tell me that even just a one-hour time change can have adverse physical effects, especially on children, and that whenever there was a time change, there was an accompanying increase in admissions to the ER due to accidental injuries.
I am surprised no politician has run on the DST platform. He or she would get a lot of supporters.

I don't believe in time. Time is irrelevant.

As i was walking down the street one day
A man came up to me and asked me what the time was that was on my watch, yeah
And i said
Does anybody really know what time it is
Does anybody really care
If so i can't imagine why
We've all got time enough to cry
And i was walking down the street one day
A pretty lady looked at me and said her diamond watch had stopped cold dead
And i said
Does anybody really know what time it is
Does anybody really care
If so i can't imagine why
We've all got time enough to cry
And i was walking down the street one day

I realize that as a "night person" with little use for extended afternoon sunlight hours, I am in a minority, and I can understand why so many people like DST. I just wish that when we DO set the clocks forward in the spring, we could just leave the time alone for the entire year and not be jerked back and forth. I think it should be put to a vote. Yay for Arizona, Hawaii and parts of Indiana for their decisions not to participate in DST.
