I just read the following in today's Sierra Star:

Neighbors helping neighbors

Dear Editor:
The Mariposa Historical District Merchants Group, along with the citizens of Mariposa, wants to thank you, the merchants and citizens of Oakhurst for their support since Highway 140 to Yosemite was closed due to the rockslide. Mariposa has a lot to offer visitors with our rich history, great restaurants, outstanding gift shops, and friendly people. Thank you, Oakhurst for shopping and sending visitors to Mariposa. Thank you for your support.

Richard C. Hutchinson

Now, how cool is that???

Very Cool!

KK Wants to put together and OF trip to Mariposa for shopping and lunch - who would like to go? And when? Has to be a weekend for KK though.

Hey, if you all make a trip make sure you stop by The Pony and ask for me. I'd love to meet some of you all and while I'm not scheduled on the weekends, I'm usually there a good part of the day anyway ;0)

I have been to Happy Burger twice the last 2 weeks. And I dislike Mariposa (but I love the Fritz's we go back).

How about Sunday, July 16th?

Meet in Oakhurst - Von's parking lot? By the bank/post office end there is lots of parking not used on weekends - say around 9:00 - head to Mariposa (caravan, ride-share?) Stop by Pony's (Whoopsy Daisy's) for a nice coffee or other drink.

Then shop a bit, have a nice lunch and shop more or head back early.

What do you all think?

Where is a good place for lunch?

There are two really good places for a "nice" lunch in town. Either River Rock which is right behind my shop or High Country, the health food store that has a cafe inside. They both have great food.........either way, you won't be sorry http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/wink3.gif
