Im just curious... how many North Fork folks in their twenties/thirties are a member here? Ive seen a few but not most of us put our ages in their profile.

Speaking of how a lot of people don't like to put their age in their profiles (and how some just to keep that info as secret as their paychecks), it has never bothered me to say how many years it's been since I was born.

Even when I was a kid, I noticed that young people were always striving to look and act "older," and the older people were striving to look and act "younger." I thought, "Why can't people just be happy with whatever age they really are, instead of pretending to be something else?"

To me, age means nothing. I have close friends who aren't even in their 20s yet, and the list goes on all the way up to people in their late 80s. Some of the young ones, to be honest, can be as cranky and crotchety and boring as one might expect from a 99-year-old! And some of the oldest ones can only be described as "totally cool."

It isn't some date on a calendar that makes the person -- it's their attitude about life. Those who embrace life with zest and enthusiasm are "ageless."

Not that I have anything against people wanting to find others in their own age group -- I think the purpose of this thread is great. I just jumped on the chance to put my 2 cents in about age.

Alright, so we have Tot, Sandman and myself who are in their twenties in North Fork. Sheesh, you'd think there'd be more then that....

nah. it's the weird age. those of us who grew up here usually move away as fast as possible. a lot move back, esp. once they've 'started a family'. Sandman and i just came back early i think.

I know of a couple of NF 20-somethings who are members of OF but they aren't active any more I guess.

Maybe you could get them active here again. I'd like to talk and get to know people in our area that are my age, or older, doesnt matter.
