A Fresno State student living off campus is being accused of shooting 3 people, killing one of them, at the University Village Apartments on Barstow, west of Cedar Avenue.Fresno Police are talking by phone with the student, identified as John Brooks, 19, of Hayward, Calif. The SWAT team is at the apartment complex, which has been evacuated.
In a live press conference at 5:30 a.m., Police Chief Jerry Dyer issued a plea to the student to surrender in hopes he was watching the news.
Fresno State remains open for classes today.
