We pay taxes, We vote, why can't we get an equal say in what happens in our County? There was a 3/2 vote of the Board of Supervisors that took 3.2 million dollars of measure A money that was going to fix our local roads and gave it to Madera City for another overpass, There is a committee that oversees the Chukchansi agreement including the disbursment of over a million dollars a year, the County representatives on the committee are Supervisos Moss and Dominici. Now they are forming an all inclusive water committee to oversee anything water related out of 19 members only 4 are from East of the Madera canal. Get involved watch what your board is doing.

Madera City has the "home field advantage" it really sucks.
They get all the goodies, road fixes, etc etc..... ever tried riding a bike lately on our rural roads? not fun!

Does anyone know if there is a group already formed who is working to make Oakhurst or Coarsegold an incorporated city/town? If not, I would like to form one. We need a better library in Oakhurst and a Coarsegold branch library. We need sidewalks, and pedestrian and bicyclist accommodations along the 41. We need our tax dollars to work for us when we improve our park system. It is incredible what our communiy has done to raise funds for the Oakhurst park, but why didn't our tax dollars help with that? Also...we do need more police officers...need I mention the drunks in the park? Why must my preschool children have to deal with them when they go to the playground? Yes, I am a democrat, but I am also a mother.

Incorporation is well underway. It appears we will be able to vote on it in February 08.

Wow, I never thought I would say this but I think incorporation for Oakhurst would be good. I just have vivid bad memories of what it did for Santa Clarita. I think we just have to be very careful of controlling the developers. Hopefully because Yosemite is a national park there would be some control for the surrounding areas. I am not too knowledgeable about such things so I don't know if that is a factor or not. I guess we just have to hope that the people in charge know what they're doing and will not be money hungry and destroy the area with over development.
