I noticed a beer and wine liquor app. posted on a window where the Taquiera use to be in the raley's Shopping Center. It listed the business name as The Village Hoffbrau. Has anyone heard anything about this yet? It sounds like a good and yummy idea....can't wait to try it out once they open.

It's between Oakhurst and Mariposa, but closer to Mariposa. I've eaten there several times and always enjoyed it, so I am looking forward to their new venue.

I am excited, I loved the breweries down South. Maybe we OOF/YAO-ers should make an outing of it once it opens.

Has anyone out there tried The Village Hofbrau Restaurant? We did tonight, and boy were we dissapointed! We ordered the special for $12.95, which was Orange Roughy and Shrimp. The green beans and baked beans were canned. The fish was pre-breaded/pre frozen, and there was no bread nor crackers offered to go with the meal.
With so many fine restaurants in Oakhurst and surrounding areas, we can do much better, and we will in the future. Since we are new to this area, we would welcome suggestions for reasonable, but well made, fresh fine dining.:(

Been there a few times, didn't really enjoy it, but the person I was with once had the French Dip and said it was great!
(think there is another thread about the Hofbrau, I'll try to find it and merge them so you can have more info)

Newcomer had their pastrami sandwich the day we went - it was good - I wound up eating part of his though because I did not like my pot-pie sorry to say (was bland). I don't want to bash them - its hard enough to start a restaurant... and Lord knows I would like to; it takes guts and money. But maybe they need to work some bugs out? (oops he did it to me again - he's logged in and I wasn't - KK posting under Newcomer)...

Fridays newspaper says they offer "sit down service during the dinner hour" and Prime Rib on Friday & Saturday nights...
open from 10:30-8:30 and they accept reservations...

I've eaten there once, wasn't impressed. Not a very good selection, and service was very slow at the counter. Could have been a bad day, but hey, sometimes first impressions are everything.
