I've heard the Hofbrau is open, has anyone tried it yet?
Lucy's Mexican Restaurant has sold. I've heard it now has table service and will be getting a beer and wine license.
Anyone heard when DiCicco's will be opening?

Had lunch on the 5th at the Hofbrau...chunky (not shaved) pastrami sandwich on rye with very good kraut and it was yummy and I don't particularly like pastrami. Saw someone I know with friends and between each of them at their table they were trying most of the menu and loving it. I was disappointed that they've done NOTHING with the location it seems but move in and cook - no atmosphere.

I haven't been there yet, but I remember reading that the owners did most of the interior decorating themselves and they are very proud of their custom made distressed copper top bar. Maybe I'll go check it out later.

I suppose its hard starting out a small business - the rent alone (so I've found out as I've called around various places for rent in town) is tough to make when you probably aren't bringing in much in the beginning.
As they grow, they'll probably add more to the "ambience".
As long as their food (and service) is good, they'll make it - "atmosphere" or not - to start.
I keep dreaming of opening my own business someday in Oakhurst area... but I'm gutless so far. Just not ready to roll those dice just yet.
I applaud them for realizing their dream and giving it a go!

I agree KK. My roomie Bob tried the Hofbrau and said it was okay. His Mom loved her sandwich. So, I'm gonna give it a try.
As far as realizing their dream and giving it a go... I also applaud that. I am in the process of doing the same thing myself, details TBA.
