I have had this in my mind for so long, but am not a self starter. Does anyone know of a business in Oakhurst that might want to set aside a corner for a book exchange? I have always thought something like a coffee house would be a good place, but that is dating myself.
Anyone interested in trying this?

The first Sat. of every month the library has a sale where you can pick up books for practically nothing, and also support a good cause. I have a book exchange with my husband, best friend and sister. After the books have traveled their course we donate them back to the library. Its a win win situation. I always have an abundance of books on hand. I could be part of an exchange here online. Any ideas how to do it?

I didn't know about the library sale. I have donated boxes of books to be used as *honor* checkouts, but it seems they still have a meager supply.
My problem is that I have absolutely no idea how to do it. If we had a physical place for the books, I would say you can trade one for one any time in any quantity. How do you do it with your friend and sister. Could we possibly just enlarge that circle?

I have a group of friends here in YLP where we exchange books. For instance I'm reading "The Davinci Code" right now. I have a friend in my yoga class that is reading "Demons & Angels". we will exchange when we're done.
There are a few book clubs here in YLP and one in our church.
You can also start this club in your church. Ask them for some space. Or call the Community Center see if they can get involved.

Sorry, I don't. Thriftbooks.com on the internet has a huge inventory, but it does take about 3 weeks to get an order.

Thanks for the tip...hoped I'd get something more immediately though.

unfortunately the books I usually read are a little less mainstream and therefore I don't think anyone really would care to trade or have something that could keep my interest.
Just ask Summer. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/laugh.gif
