What's happening on Deadwood?

About 5:00 I pulled into Pete's and it looked like a pretty good fire going on Deadwood. After I got my order and was leaving - app. 20 min. later it looked like the fire had diminished quite a bit. Just got a call from Nascar and she said Deadwood is closed and traffic is backed up all the way down the 41 to the 426 and even up to Brandywine. People are using the 425 road to get into town. What happened?

I was wondering where all that smoke was coming from. I was driving back from Fresno at about 6:00pm and i saw a lot of smoke towards Oakhurst, but I live in YLP so I didn't know exactly where it was coming from. I would be intersted in knowing what happened as well.

My wife was heading home on 41 at that time (around 4:30 pm) and she saw the problem. A pick-up truck heading south on Deadwood was brokendown and engulfed in fames and the fire spread to the hillside.

Yeah and they got the fire out pretty fast because it didn't get to far... thank goodness... fires are going every place. we were at football yesterday at Sierra High for Carnival and they close the road you take to North Fork Redenger (can't spell it) about 2:00-3:00pm. which sucked for the parents who go that way to North Fork.
