Jesus w as almost certainly a cannabis user and an early proponent of the medicinal properties of the drug, according to a study of scriptural texts published this month. The study suggests that Jesus and his disciples used the drug to carry out miraculous healings.
The anointing oil used by Jesus and his disciples contained an ingredient called kaneh-bosem which has since been identified as cannabis extract, according to an article by Chris Bennett in the drugs magazine, High Times, entitled Was Jesus a Stoner? The incense used by Jesus in ceremonies also contained a cannabis extract, suggests Mr Bennett, who quotes scholars to back his claims.

So I've been looking for references in scripture of Jesus using oil to heal someone...haven't found any.
He did use spit. :o
...besides I think the point of Jesus' healings were based on demonstrating his Divinity, weren't they?
If he had used pharmacological substances to heal it would have been counter productive.
The cannabis oil theory seems unlikely and illogical at this point, at least in relation to Jesus.

I've been staying away from this thread, because, in another lifetime I used to study and teach the Bible. I cannot remember ever reading of Jesus using oil for healing, but it's not hard for me to believe oils and incenses were used by Jesus & His disciples. Jesus himself was anointed with perfume, which really upset His disciples, only because they didn't understand the true meaning of the act by the woman. Jesus carried wine instead of water and people make comments about that, too.. Honestly, wine was one of the only beverages which could be carried safely at that time. Water sources were often contaminated also. So, as for the cannabis theory, in my opinion, it could be somewhat accurate, but I still don't believe He healed with it. He had a divine power to heal, he used His voice with Lazarus, His words with the man on the mat, and His touch with the dead child. I don't believe He suddenly needed any props.

...you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. . . . the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit - just as it has taught you, remain in him." 1 John 2: 27
You do realize that Christian literally translated means the anointed ones.
Some of the Nag Hamadi documents make note of the anger of temple priest towards Jesus for distributing banned anointing oils among the poor.

From what I've read "anointed" can also mean "chosen" and not smeared with oil....
this is a useful sight to look stuff up regarding the bible.

Acts 10:34-38
Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.
