Well.. we have been reviewing and killing and keeping local places to grub out... but how bout a change of lo-cal?
Last nite i was in Morro Bay and had a most FAB dinner at Windows on the Water (on the embarcadero). It is definaely a bit "Gucci Gucci" but yet they don't make ya wear ties or coats. Jeans and trainers (oops athletic shoes) are fine. its California Cuisine. They have a killer wine list... and the entrees are 30 dollars or less. I got the bullibaise (sp). my sis and bro in law got the shrimp, my mum got the sand dabs. the servings look small.. but man they fill ya up. I got caesar salad as a side..... and even ate the anchovie http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif. the four of us spent 180 dollars... including a very very very nice bottle of Santa Cruz ( ben lomand) Cabernet Sav.... yeah i know.. we all had seafood.. but we are Cab Sav fans......
so if you are in Morro Bay... venture on down to Windows on the Water and have a wonderful supper.

I went there, I think last year around the fourth of July. It was great, food, atmosphere, price, view everything. I also recommend this place. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/hungry.gif

Choco... glad to find someone else who loved the place. Last nite the place was as gussied up for christmas.. with toys and stuffed animals all around.. i tried to scamper off with the stuffed tiger, but i was seen. http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif~. I ooooooooh sooooo miss living in Morro Bay. Its my real "home town" even though i didnt move there til age 20. But my body cells are much more aligned after being at the coast and experiencing "The Rock" for two days.

Will have to try that place when going for another "Morro Bay" fix! We usually go to Great American Fish place or a sports bar bistro type place called Otter Rock. They have great scallops and bloody marys there.

Given that Pismo and Morro folk come here to play and we go there to play so much so we should be exchanging homes for the weekend and that more people from here and Fresno went to the rally to keep the dunes open than coastal folk...I'd say that's about as local as we are gonna get.
My favorite Morro grub comes from the Galley. We tend to eat there first. Harry's in Pismo is always a good time. Another do not miss for me has been the little place out on the pier in Avalon. Sorry can't remember then name only the one 'house' sea lion that seems to always be there.

Maybe it comes from living there as long as I did... but places like TheGalley and GAFCO (Great American Fish Co) just dont appeal to me. Ill take Pizza Port in MorroBay (Though its just not the same without Surfer Joe tossing pizza dough in the air) and ill take windows on the water..... call me a food snob http://oakhurstonline.com/icon/happy.gif

GAFCO is good for a quick lunch on the go...if there isn't a line out the door (during season), but other wise......
I always run into friends from here while at the Galley. Is the guy that owns it still the Mayor? If I remember right, his brother lives up here.
