Just a reminder... got a few orders from Yosemite Area Online members, but I'm sure there are more of you that want to come.

Get your tickets now - they are going fast!

Most likely, no tickets will be available the night of the event so you MUST reserve your tickets online via www.oakhursthalloween.com (http://www.oakhursthalloween.com) You can mail a check or pay with PayPal, but make the reservation now so that you don't miss out.

There is a 200 person limit on these pre-sales, once that is done we are closing the reservation request form on the website and people will be turned away at the door.

We will have a variety of music - something for everyone

We will have $2 and $3 beer, plus jungle juice and the Elks Club is opening the bar so a full bar is available.

We rented out the Elks Club and are spending over $1,000 decorating it. We will have hired security and snack food available. All of this costs money, so tickets are going for $15 each.

Remember, The Pines charges $20 at the door on holiday weekends and you would only get one band and more expensive alcohol. Why go to the same 'ol bar when you can get a ticket for this special event?

Any questions or comments?

We have sold over 25% (50) tickets to this event. An article will be coming out in the Sierra Star and flyers are being distributed. If you have not already done so, reserve your ticket(s) before it's too late. Most likely this event will sell out before the night of the event. This means that, most likely, tickets will not be available at the door. Reserve your ticket online... you can pay by paypal or send a check.

We will have a full bar available!!!
Costume contest with $300 in prizes!!!
Great Live Music - Something for Everyone!!!

We have over 50% (100) tickets reserved. The article came out in the Sierra Star and fliers have been distributed. I am getting many orders every day. At this rate, we will probably be sold out very soon. If you have not reserved tickets and you want to attend, do so now. Go to www.oakhursthalloween.com

Also, finger food will be available at the event in addition to all of the beverages.

Grown-ups (well, people 21 and older, whether you qualify as a grown-up or not), get out your Elvira shroud and your clown wig, its par-tay time in Oakhurst.
<!-- BEGIN Component: SierraStar : component/storylevel/nophoto.comp -->A couple of young entrepreneurs, Brian Erikson and Mathew Sands, self-described party guys, have decided the Halloween fun shouldn't be limited to all those little Spidermen and Snow Whites.
"We don't really have a whole lot going on up here," said Sands when asked why they decided to do this.
The party will be Friday, Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Oakhurst Elks Lodge.
The guys promise they'll go all out with decorations -- possibly transforming areas of the lodge into a witch's lair, a butcher shop and a graveyard.
Bands Green Machine from Hanford and Ten Ton Chicken from Berkeley will play and a DJ will spin.
Eat a good meal before you go, though. The food will be minimal. Sodas will go for $1; beers for $2 or $3 and there will be a full bar.
They will shell out prizes for costumes (first place, $100; second place, $50 and best couple, $150) but won't reveal what they'll be dressed as -- although chicken wire might play and integral part of Sands' outfit.
Raffles, games and dancing will all be part of the evening.
They'll cut the crowd off at 200 people. Tickets, at $15 each, are available now. Call (559) 760-4077 or go to www.oakhursthalloween.com.

About what percentage of people will have costumes at the party?

Sandman

Almost everyone I talk to is wearing a costume. I'd say that about 90% will be dressed up.

It was a lot of fun. I'm sure there are some great photos out there, but I didn't take any myself... too busy on the door & dancing. Learned some great new moves from my new dance partner.

I had such a blast! The haunted house was Awesome. Matt and crew did such a superb job I was so impressed. The bands rocked, although i wish everyone could of been in the room they were playing in. I wish I could of stayed longer but my ride had to work early bummer...all you people that didnt make it ...you missed out!..be there next year !!

The Halloween Scare Affair was a success. Everyone seemed to be having a great time and the costumes were very good this year. I learned a few things from doing this event and I'll do some things different next time. I feel that an outdoor venue may be the way to go next time. That way people can smoke and still be in the same area as the band. It seems that we had a lot of smokers and everyone gathered outside most of the night. You could still hear the bands, but it was a bummer for the bands to play in a huge room when almost everyone was outside.
