Please don't interpret my question as being sarcastic, but I honestly don't know what is meant by "sugar-coating" the message. I admit I don't have much recent experience in attending church services, but from what I remember, the messages always seemed a bit harsh. The term "sugar coat" isn't something I can connect with past sermons I have heard. But perhaps I am misunderstanding the meaning of the term.

I'd be interested to hear others' opinions, as I'm sure they have much more experience than I do. Thanks!

In my experience with churches, the term sugar coat would be something like being Politically Correct.

Thank you for your thoughtful question. I am glad people are thinking and concerned with what they get from the pulpit.

Sugar coat means the frosting. The sweetness of the Gospel. The word of God. the truth may be preached in some churches but only partial truth. The truth maybe truth. But if it is not complete truth then is it really truth? This is not done with most pastors intentionally. In other words if I only give you the icing on the cake to make you feel somewhat good but you have nothing good to eat but only the cake you will be severely missing what you need in your walk with God.

You need the whole meal not just desert. That is not healthy physically or spiritually. I preach the whole of the gospel to make ready a Christian for their walk and it is a tough one! One of love Agape love ( Unconditional love) and Grace and Mercy for one another. In other words Live what you preach 1st and then preach what you live.

How God has treated you. With Grace giving you what you simply do not deserve Heaven. With Mercy not giving you what you do deserve Hell. all because of Agape love. Unconditional love. No conditions think about it. Praise God!

Now I teach how to put these Great gifts into your life and also not just for you. But for us to be like Christ love like Christ to all who are around us. Jn. 15:9 As the father has loved me so Have I loved you. Continue in my love.

Treat everyone including your enemies with the love you yourself have received from God. For what we do to everyone, anyone, we have done it to Jesus, Mat says.

Have a wonderful day, I hope this has in part answered your question. Lord blessings to all.

We have been open for one and a half years now.

Pastor Chuck Agape Fellowship. ( Gods Child is my wife )

Thank you for the explanations. I guess that sugarcoating is akin to being told what you want to hear, rather than how something really is. That's more like salesmanship than spreading the word and will of God.

I am going to look for sugarcoating in everything now!
