We are looking for a veterinarian, and would appreciate any recommendations/experiences that you guys might be willing to share. We have a Border Collie and 4 pet goats.
Thanks!

i prefer Coarsegold Vet. My Topaz pees on the vets at Hoof and Paw.. also, when Topaz had a fox tail imbedded in her eye at 4pm... Hoof and Paw told us we couldnt come in cos they were closing in a hour... we went to Fresno to Emergency Vet on 1st and Mckinley and Topaz absolutely LOVED that vet. He rocked. I refuse to go to Hoof and Paw. Might consider Oakhurst Vet again.... but Coarsegold Vet is AWESOME!!!!

I was told when I was looking that Coarsegold Vet was taking no new patients, Wolfie. I have also been told that about the only vet who takes goats anywhere near is All Creatures Great and Small in Mariposa. (I have heard nothing, but absolutely nothing but fabulous things about Great and Small - they spayed my cat Zooey)

Hoof and Paw has always been wonderful for us. We've taken our pets there since we moved here. I remember when we called late on a Saturday and they made themselves available to us. I also realize that the Doctors and assistants have lives, families, children to pick up at day care, etc., so they cannot always be available on a moments notice...
We had to take Kona in there a couple months ago to put her down and they were incredible. I can remember taking Kato in with Sandman also, they got him up and about quickly also. Dr. Taylor has always handles our pets well, and they can be difficult sometimes...
I have been told about a vet in North Fork who handles more of the farm type animals, but don't have a lot of information on that yet, I was told to call Box Feed (?) to get the information on purchasing vaccines for my pets, apparently you purchase the medicines & give them to your pets yourself...

I wouldn't recommend Coarsegold Vet at all. I just lost a litter of pups and they were no help to us what so ever. If you like to know or hear what happen I can send you a pm... I am not happy with the way they are there and how they treat people there.

We really appreciate all of the information, and will use it to make our decision.
Thanks again!
