okay ......

Of all the "Mexican" resturants up here.... I like El Cids best...the people are friendly ... treat you great ..... and the service is the best.... the food is the best "Mexican" food here....

However, I gotta say I miss real good Mexican food.... with Shrimp, Mole Poblano, Mariscos etc.....

I am missing that thing only from my Bay Area Life ... my good friend had a Great Resturant.

El Amigo at Santa Theresa and Bernal rd ... MiBrew.... you know what I mean ...

I also like El Cids, but every time I go there I get bugged by the flies. Have they figured out a way to keep them out yet?

I also think El Cids has the best Mexican food in town. I don't recall having fly problems but I havn't been there for a year.

Okay Mi .... go to El Amigo in San Jose .... Bernal Rd and Santa Theresa.... Ask for the owner HUberto .... tell him your a friend of Jimi the old pool guy, with all the kids...

Ask for his Mole ... his Echilada de Cameroon ... his Quesidilla with Jumbo shrimp ... and his Flan .....his is the best ....with a little Kahlua usually ...

Then compare to ElCids...

Or take a trip down on a Sunday and have his Sunday Champagne brunch .... well it used to be Chanpagne, the live mariachi and so much great food you could die....

I love their mole (chicken mole) yummy, and Iv'e had it, we even got their recipe, never met the owner though...

There are others that also make good mole like La Fiesta in Mountain View, or Fiesta Del Mar.

but where we are in the mountains ya have to go for the best thats availible, and El Sids and thats the best Ive found here, I also tried Castillo's in Oakhurst 3 or 4 times and each time our party ended up leaving unhappy, but for some reason a few of the older folks there love it, but I do hear that bass lake's Castillo's is much better, but have never tried it.

I went to El Cid last night with my husband and my fifteen year old brother. The food was delicious! I had a chicken tostada, my hubby had a chili verde burrito and my brother had a beef taco and carne asada burrito plate. The food was fresh, the service was fast, I think this might be my new favorite Mexican place!

I'm not much of a tequila fan in my ripe old age. I can stomach a margarita with an extra shot of triple sec to mask the tequila scent/taste, but my little brother was with us last night and he doesn't like it when I drink so I try not to around him.

I love El Cid! It is our favorite place to eat. If we decide to go out to dinner for a special occasion we always go there. There food is always good, the people are so nice, and Tony (the owner) walks around and visits the tables to see how everyone is doing (I think it is a nice touch).

I went to El Cids late last night with Broken after we saw a movie. The food was great, the service was great and the price was right! This may very well be our best restaurant in town.

I also like the food and service at El Cid's, but I don't eat out very often locally. I only seem to dine in restaurants when I travel, and I am going to have to start taking advantage of local eateries. My all-time favorite Mexican food comes from a tiny bright yellow building in Los Banos called Cutija. There is no inside dining and it really is just a shack of a place, but man.....I am addicted to their chile relleno burritos!
