I am a life coach here in the Philly area. No I don't do it full time, but I have helped a few people. If anyone has anything they would like to talk about let me know. You can send a PM or we can have an open topic thread right here.

I see that there are many topics, but maybe it would be nice to just have an open discussion. This way there is no fear of high-jacking a thread, and we can change topics at anytime:D

What exactly is a life coach? What would one gain from talking to a life coach? It sounds interesting.

You are in Philly? Do you come to Oakhurst much?

Not to hijack or anything, but I saw an ad in the advertiser for a life coach, it was a large ad towards the bottom of the front page. Strange. Is it good business?

A life is a person who helps keep you motivated in life, work, and spirt. You can, but don't need to go to school for it. From what I have heard, school is a waste of money. All you really need is to be there for people. I have had people call me who wanted to kill themselves at 2am. It is my job to help them. I have helped married people stay together, and likewise told them to split up.

A life coach is really just a friend when you need one, or a helping hand. A shoulder to cry on if you will, or a motivaten push.

As far as money, well, not really. I only charge $20 for an hour. Some charge more like $50-$100. I don't do it for the money, I do it to help. Sometimes I don't charge at all if I think they are hard up, and really need help.

Right after I posted this, I read where it was explained further down the thread ....lol...sorry !!

What exactly is a life coach? What do they do? I know I have heard of them before, but I dont recall what I learned regarding them~ Thanks !

My life coach is a group of friends I have and my family. Unfortunately in these days a lot of people don't have close friends or family to confide in. The world has become an isolated place. So I guess a life coach would be good in that situation - if you just need an ear. But it really can't take the place of professional help. If you have real problems there is no shame in seeing a therapist. By all means, get the best help you can, medically, if that is what is needed.
