The tea room returns to Oakhurst

OK, it's pink and Battenburg lacy. Yes, it's girly. Alice -- you remember Alice (not the one with the restaurant, the one who went down the rabbit hole) -- and her friends are everywhere.
<!-- BEGIN Component: SierraStar : component/storylevel/nophoto.comp --> Words that come to mind: charming, cozy, comfy. Not cloying, mind you; it's not cutsey, but it is darn cute.
Oakhurst has a tea room again.
Laurie Flanagan has a great location for Time For Tea. It's the front store in the shopping center at the confluence of Highway 41 and Crane Valley Road (426). Look for the teapot silhouette over the door. The same center has DiCicco's, so there will be a battle for parking, but no matter.
One day last week, Cari Rumohr was there with her daughter, Abigail, to celebrate the little one's sixth birthday.
She said she used to go to the shop Flanagan had before.
"I would bring my nieces," she said. "My own kids were too little. I was so glad to see this open."
Abigail was getting lessons in the right way to pour tea while sitting at a lace-curtained window. The "Alice in Wonderland" dishes contained dainty and delectable-looking sweets and savories. Abigail looked like she was having a wonderful time.
"I couldn't go anywhere without people asking me to please, please do it again," Flanagan said in answer why she decided to jump back into the tea trade.
"We have an Alice room, a fairy room, a Victorian room and fireside tables," she said.
There are also gifts that will tempt any lover of things cute and tea-related.
Time For Tea is open Monday noon to 3 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Reservations are a good idea," Flanagan said.
Call (559) 683-4535.

I can't wait to go, I really missed the other tea house. I'm sure its good if its the same person who had the other one.

Had a great time the last time I went to the old tea room. Giggled a lot and was spoon fed apple cobbler... thanks for posting this one Sandman, it brought back a really special memory. Can't wait to try the new place.
